This is an impelling story about a young person who was much larger. Yet it is the bully who could not be strong.

Impressively researched authentic tale of white slavery in early American history
Revisado: 01-08-24
This book is an eye opener to the oppression of immigrants sent to America as a sentence for criminal behaviors. It is a difficult read with most of the narrative describing the plight of indentured servants in harsh detail. I appreciated the inclusion of the true "early settlers ", the Lanape and Delaware tribes, and their interactions and influence on these immigrants.
Highest compliments to the exceptional and authentic narration by Sarah-Jane Drummey. Her performance and distinction between the Irish, English and Scot accents added great enjoyment to this audio book.

Historia
The hardscrabble folks of Troublesome Creek have to scrap for everything - everything except books, that is. Thanks to Roosevelt's Kentucky Pack Horse Library Project, Troublesome's got its very own traveling librarian, Cussy Mary Carter. Cussy's not only a book woman, however, she's also the last of her kind, her skin a shade of blue unlike most anyone else. Not everyone is keen on Cussy's family or the Library Project, and a Blue is often blamed for any whiff of trouble.

The audio was monotone making it easy to drift off from the performance. Blaming Fauci for wars and autism is a stretch.
