Historia
Karl is worse than a newb. He doesn’t even like role playing games. Still, they did give him a choice: totally immerse or die. Now Karl is on his very first adventure into the gaming world of Bridge Quest. It’s a world so real that it’s hard to tell the difference between NPCs and the players; where tastes, smells, sounds and experiences are so vivid you forget you’re in an artificial world. Except for those pesky popups and stats charts, Karl discovers he’s having more fun than in real life.

RPG or something more sinister?
Revisado: 06-24-20
This is a great start for a multi book series. Be forewarned that the book does more slowly at the start, but picks up later. There are actually two plots to this book. One inside the game world and one outside in real life.
Like most other RPGs the protagonist plays a game. They are "uploaded into the game and instead of playing the game via controllers or keyboards are fully immersed into the game. most of the characters have had little or no experience in playing RPGs, so part of the plot is watching them learn how to interact with the game world. Meanwhile in the real world, there are hints of something more sinister going.
I agree with other readers that while the narrator does well with the male voices, something is missing with the female voices.

Revisado: 05-26-20
Terrific start to a series. Imagine a holosuite with out having to have physically participate in the world. You don't have to worry about the physical limitations of your body. Be a hero, a villain or anywhere in between.
Luke Chmilenko did a wonderful job in developing the characters and created and exciting word.
Luke Daniels does terrific job narrating.

Escape Into Another World
Revisado: 08-07-18
Bought this book simply because it looked interesting and got swept into an adventure. As an avid RPG player, I have often wondered what it would be like to be in the game, instead of just playing the game. I have listened to many based on video games, but never one from the players point of view.
D Rus has introduced me to a whole new genre of audio books to enjoy and Michael Goldstrom did a terrific job of narrating the book.

Historia
Colombian drug lords, bored with Uncle Sam's hectoring, assassinate the head of the FBI. The message is clear: Bug off! At what point do these druggies threaten national security? When can a nation act against its enemies? These are questions Jack Ryan must answer because someone has quietly stepped over the line. Does anyone know who the real enemy is? How much action is too much? Which lines have been crossed? Ryan and his "dark side", a shadowy field officer known only as Mr. Clark, are charged with finding out.

Terrific Book. Much better Narrator
Revisado: 01-07-11
Tom Clancy does it again. The book kept my attention throughout and was hard to put down. Michael Prichard does a great job on this reproduction of the book. Unlike the other reading by J. Charles, Prichard is easy to understand and reads at an understandable rate. I can only hope that he narrates some of the other books.

Historia
With the Locust Horde apparently destroyed, Jacinto's survivors have begun to rebuild human society on the Locusts' stronghold. Raiding pirate gangs take a toll - but it's nothing that Marcus Fenix and the Gears can't handle. Then the nightmare that they thought they'd left behind begins to stalk them again. Something far worse, something even the Locust dreaded, has emerged to spread across the planet, and not even this remote island haven is beyond its reach.

Traviss Does it Again
Revisado: 12-26-10
Just when you think that the books can't get anymore interesting, they do. Like the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, references in past books are made clear. You learn more and more about the characters and what make them who they are; and how their pasts have shaped their present day. I can hardly wait for the next book to find out what happens.
David Colacci continues his terrific job as Narrator in the series. The characters quite literally come alive in the reading of the book.

Great Book, Great Narrator, Bad Audio
Revisado: 01-17-10
Frank Peretti writes another great book and Kevin Foley does a great job narrating it.
However (at the time of this posting) Audible did a poor job creating the Audio Files. Evidentally this book was "ripped" right from the CDs and put into audible format.
About every hour you hear "end of disc...please insert disc...".
Author's Writing... 5 Stars
Narrator's Reading... 5 Stars
Audible's Formatting... 3 Stars.

There's a new war to fight now, a war for mankind's very survival. But while the last human stronghold on Sera braces itself for another onslaught from the Locust Horde, ghosts come back to haunt Marcus and Dom.

Adds much depth to the game.
Revisado: 10-15-09
Karen Traviss does a terrific job writing as does David Colacci narrating this book.
I played the video game and then found out about the book and got it simply for more background to the story. The only negative point about the book was the bouncing around from present to past, as the listener can become confused.
I can only hope that Mr. Colacci narrates the second book as well, as he did a great job.
Can hardly wait for the next book to come out is Audio Book form.

Revisado: 08-29-09
Anyone that knows Tim LaHaye's books, knows what a terrific Christian writer he is. This book not only takes the reader through the history of Noah's Ark, but also presents it in a way that easier to understand.
LaHaye does a great job of combining history, suspense and mystery.
