It’s a fun read, but too many storylines and characters. If you want something fun and light, this is it.

Revisado: 12-09-21
This book has been so extremely helpful after losing my son 4 months ago. It gives me peace. I don’t think it even matters if you believe in Mediums or not, this book can still help you.

Historia
The disease of addiction affects 1 out of 10 people in the United States, and is a devastating - often, fatal - illness. Now, from the physician director of the renowned Betty Ford Center, comes a step-by-step plan with a realistic "one-day-at-a-time" approach to a disease that so often seems insurmountable. With a focus on reclaiming the power that comes from a life free of dependency, Being Sober walks listeners through the many phases of addiction and recovery without judgment or the overly "cultish" language of traditional 12-step plans.

I loved this book! My son is an alcoholic and in crisis. The scientific approach in this book and the raw honesty of the author really was something he could relate to. And an alternate look at the spiritual side of AA also made it more relatable for him. I gave him a copy and think it's going to really help him change his life. Thank you!

This book was extremely insightful and I enjoyed every minute of it. Leah narrating added so much more to it from humor to tears while never doubting her honesty and integrity throughout. I applaud her courage and look forward to seeing her find justice for so many and peace for herself.

Revisado: 10-02-16
Loved this story! Very moving and important story to tell. We are so lucky that people cared enough to dedicate themselves to finding justice for those who could not. How people survived the injustices is WWII I don't know but their bravery lives on in stories like this. Thank you for telling their story! We must never forget......

Fascinating woman
Revisado: 12-25-15
I have always loved and admired Katharine Hepburn. This showed some very interesting insights into her entire life and the most I have ever read about her complicated relationship with Spencer Tracy. I may not hold her on as high a pedestal as I once did, but learned a lot about her and what made her the woman she was. Highly recommend it.

With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

I loved this book from beginning to end. It was painful, emotional and gave me a glimpse of the suffering that went on for everyday citizens during WWII. It's a side we never hear about and I'm happy to have been a part of this very poignant story.

Different narrator
Revisado: 01-16-15
I never like when they change narrators in a series. This one has an Irish accent (I believe) so adds some interest to the story. My only complaint is sometimes the voices are not distinctive enough for me to keep track of the change in characters.
