I absolutely love Julie Mulhern’s Country Club Mysteries series and I believe this is my favorite book yet. This has a great plot and the book is filled with Ms. Mulhern’s humor and great characters.
I always recommend that a new reader/listener start from book#1 so that they can experience the plot and character development, plus you won’t miss the humor that way.
My husband always insists that he isn’t interested in reading this type of literature but I find him sitting with me more and more often when I’m listening and he laughs at least as hard as I do.
The narrator, Callie Beaulieu, does an outstanding job telling these stories.
I highly recommend this series and this book especially.

“Only the Good Die Young” is a delightful addition to Julie Mulhern’s Country Club Murders series. As a later addition to the series, it subtly displays the maturity the author has gained throughout this series but is written with the innate gift of dialogue, characters and humor she has displayed from the beginning.
While this is a novella and relatively short, I found it totally worth using one of my Audible credits. I anticipate listening to it multiple times.
Oh, Frances !!! We already knew you were a schemer, but a fibber too !!! You naughty, naughty girl!!!
I loved this book and ebook. Wonderfully written and Callie Beaulieu’s narrative was perfection. Thank you both. ❤️📚

Julie Mulhern’s Country Club Murders is my absolute favorite cozy mystery series. I love reading them and then I enjoy listening to them while I do other tasks like driving on trips, cleaning the kitchen or crocheting.
Callie Beaulieu portrays the story so well as the narrator. She does an excellent job making the story come to life and being able to know which of the many characters is “speaking”.
I always recommend that people start with book #1, “The Deep End”, so they can catch the character development and the back stories of Julies’s colorful characters who weave their ways in and out of her imaginative plots. It’s so hard to figure which one, new or old, will be the murder and how Ellison will figure it out.
This story could be a stand alone. I believe it is my favorite so far. 📚❤️

Ellison are back from their honeymoon but those dead bodies keep complicating life.
Ellison’s nemesis is complicating life this time.
Julie Mulhern continues to spin another good mystery complete with her wonderful characters (old and new).
This is a total delight to read or listen to … Callie Beaulieu hits it out of the park again with her narration.

I love the way Julie Mulhern’s words and characters dance across the pages and through my mind. It’s all so vivid. How could I possibly enjoy these books more? Just add Callie Beaulieu’s narration that brings such a perfect compliment to the pictures Julie and “our Ellison” paint!
The Country Club Murders has clearly become my favorite series of the “cozies” and “Killer Queen” doesn’t disappoint. Of course Ellison finds another body. Who is it? Mrs. Anarchy Jones? No! That can’t be right. What happened? Was it another murder? Why was she here? And in Henry’s study? (The “Where”). This has the makings of another fun mystery! (That all happens in the first few pages, so I’m not really giving anything away.)
In addition to this mystery you can add in all the regular delightful characters and the usual complications like Max and Pansy and “Ellison! How could you?” herself ... Mother. Add to that some new characters like another Mrs. Jones (counting the dead woman in the study, we have at least two).
Who knew there was so much going on in Kansas City’s Country Club set in the 1970s? Another great story and listen. I think I will go now and listen again! 📚❤️

I love Julie Mulhern’s Country Club Murders series and “Stayin’ Alive” is my favorite contribution to date. The characters continue to grow and weave through the different books so well. The mystery plot has plenty of twists and turns that lead the reader down one possible path to another.
It also contains some of the most riotous episodes yet.
Callie Beaulieu comes through with another notable performance. She does a great job of juggling the many characters as narrator. I am left anxiously waiting for the next installment.

This may be my favorite book so far in the Miss Fortune series. While this series always has a good mystery, I think this has been the most intriguing yet. Twists and turns and no shortage of suspects.
The same main characters that make up the little town of Sinful, Louisiana are here and a bit more development too. The Swamp Team 3 members are growing more confident in this new private investigation business. Gertie, who never lacks confidence, is laugh out loud zany and yet in this story she doesn’t leave the realm of reality ... or am I just getting used to her crazy antics?
Put your thinking cap on for this one. I am “thankful” Jana DeLeon for bringing another great story and “thankful” Cassandra Campbell for your narration.

“The Deep End” is the first book of the Country Club Murders series. I am glad that I discovered it when there are already 6 books in this series because I immediately wanted to read more. The characters are quite engaging, the mystery plot is intriguing and it is humorous without being silly.
I am ready to read book #2 “Guaranteed to Bleed”.

Julie Mulhern has created a great cozy mystery series with the Country Club Murders. Set in the 1970s we find Ellison Russell coming into her own as a capable woman, mother, daughter, artist and “finder of bodies”. The characters are engaging, fun and believable and the plots twist and turn to keep you guessing.
“Shadow Dancing” will make you laugh and think as again it touches on a relevant social issue. At the end you will be wanting more.

For those who have been following Stephanie Plum through the series. This book is much more character driven. I really enjoyed this chance to get back down to earth with a plausible situation, away from the zombie/magical stuff that has entered the storyline in some recent books. There was enough plot and action to keep things moving but real character development here to remind us why we liked these books in the first place.
Now I can say I am really looking forward to what comes next for Stephanie and the rest of these Burg/Trenton folks. Hoping for more of the old, sometimes zany, Stephanie antics. Let’s let the magic stuff vanish ... or fly off to the other series.
