Outstanding Insight Into Adult ADD
Revisado: 12-19-23
This book was recommended to me by a therapist who specializes in Adult ADD. I am so glad that she suggested that I read this book, as it covers both ADD in adults, as well as in children. Much insight and perspective is gained by reading this book. I highly recommend it.

Historia
When it comes to setting and meeting goals, we may see - quite literally - our plans, our progress, and our potential in the wrong ways. We perceive ourselves as being closer to or further from the end than we may actually be depending on our frame of reference. We handicap ourselves by looking too often at the big picture and at other times too long at the fine detail. But as award-winning social psychologist Emily Balcetis explains, there is great power in these misperceptions. We can learn to leverage perceptual illusions if we know when and how to use them to our advantage

Long-Winded
Revisado: 06-01-23
While I understand the idea of including personal anecdotes to illustrate a point, this was simply too much. The book needed to be edited to include anecdotes that were relevant, and less verbose. In this instance, less would most definitely be more.

Historia
Mention the name "Betsey Johnson" and almost every woman from the age of 15 to 75 can rapturously recall a favorite dress or outfit. They may also know her as a renegade single mom who palled around with Edie Sedgwick, Twiggy, and The Velvet Underground, or even as a celebrity contestant on Dancing with the Stars. Betsey will take the listener behind the tutu and delve deeply into what it took to go from a white picket fence childhood in Connecticut to becoming an internationally known force in a tough, competitive business.

What a great listen from Betsey Johnson about her life and career. Her narration is as spunky and adorable as her designs.
