Wrong tea
Revisado: 04-21-24
Oolong is not green tea. It is neither green nor black but brews a dark drown and is never any shade of green.

Historia
My name is Gary Rendell. I'm an astronaut. When they asked me as a kid what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said, "astronaut, please!" I dreamed astronaut, I worked astronaut, I studied astronaut. I got lucky; when a probe exploring the Oort Cloud found a strange alien rock and an international team of scientists was put together to go and look at it, I made the draw. I got even luckier. When disaster hit and our team was split up, scattered through the endless cold tunnels, I somehow survived. Now I'm lost, and alone, and scared, and there's something horrible in here. Lucky me.

Utterly Fantastic

From beginning to end I loved this. I can’t recommend this enough. The only thing that could improve my pleasure in reading one of his books is having him read it to me.

Historia
In a tale of ancient evil, Bram Stoker creates a world of lurking horrors and bizarre denizens: a demented mesmerist, hellbent on mentally crushing the girl he loves; a gigantic kite raised to rid the land of an unnatural infestation of birds, and which receives strange commands along its string; and all the while, the great white worm slithers below, seeking its next victim.... Bram Stoker, creator of Dracula, is one of the most enduring and masterful influences on the literature of terror.

Just not very good
Revisado: 12-22-23
The story was convoluted and awkward. The narrator had a terrible Australian accent that would have been better avoided. The racism was just terrible as well.

She’s not the agency’s best translator, but what else is she going to do? She has no qualifications and no discernible talent in any other field. So when tragedy strikes and Lydia finds herself at the center of an intergalactic incident, her future employment prospects look dire—that is, if she can keep herself out of jail!

Many pronunciation mistakes
Revisado: 11-01-23
I found this third and final volume to be a bit on the treacle sweet side with everyone constantly missing people “so bad it hurt”. The narrator’s frequent mispronunciations throughout were incredibly annoying and distracting.

High Bonneville makes up for all the casual sexism and racism
Revisado: 07-21-23
First book I have read although I have watched the Bond movies since childhood. Had no idea these books were that bad with the sexism and racism. I planned on reading through all of them but there’s no chance of it now. If I was unfamiliar with the stories I might pursue that goal, as I continue to read Heinlein despite his appalling treatment of women because of his fantastic storytelling.

The warning was inscribed on the entrance of the hidden tomb, forgotten for millennia in the sands of mystic Egypt. Then the archaeologists and grave robbers came in search of the fabled Jewel of Seven Stars, which they found clutched in the hand of the mummy. Few heeded the ancient warning, until all who came in contact with the Jewel began to die in a mysterious and violent way, with the marks of a strangler around their neck.

Historia
Science is a force for good in the world—at least usually. But sometimes, when obsession gets the better of scientists, they twist a noble pursuit into something sinister. Under this spell, knowledge isn’t everything, it’s the only thing—no matter the cost. Bestselling author Sam Kean tells the true story of what happens when unfettered ambition pushes otherwise rational men and women to cross the line in the name of science, trampling ethical boundaries and often committing crimes in the process.
