Historia
The result of this Roger Daltrey's introspection is a remarkable memoir, instantly captivating, funny and frank, chock-full of well-earned wisdom and one-of-kind anecdotes from a raucous life that spans a tumultuous time of change in Britain and America. Born during the air bombing of London in 1944, Daltrey fought his way (literally) through school and poverty and began to assemble the band that would become The Who while working at a sheet metal factory in 1961.

True and Accurate
Revisado: 09-04-22
That’s the fine print, isn’t it? I have no doubt that every word from Mr. Daltrey is 100% true. That’s what makes the experience great. His life, his story, his voice and we feel as though we are experiencing it right along.
The same story from someone else is probably completely different, and still true.
It took me a bit to get through it all. I kept having to stop to listen to songs or watch YouTube, so I could be there again, even though I was only ‘there’ once in Boulder, CO in 1989, but I knew every note, word and frame of film he referred to by heart.
The Who’s lyrics became a litany for me during a very difficult period. This book reminds me why.

Historia
An ongoing, episodic "prose comic" from which the pictures are summoned by the magic of words, Goon Squad is set in an alternate version of modern-day Manchester. Its biggest divergence from the real city is that it - along with most other large urban centers - has a team of superheroes to protect it against unusual threats with which the conventional forces of law and order would have problems. Goon Squad: Year One offers three action-packed volumes in a single collection.

I love Rudnicki
Revisado: 01-10-21
Stefan has a serious grasp on accents. The way he enunciates is astonishing. But, he definitely doesn’t have any British. Sounds like Australian or South African. De Cuir has grown, as a narrator, so much, since her Card days.
That aside, I like the way Howard uses normal people who suddenly find that they are different. Doesn’t change them. They are still the same people. No brooding, well, not much, they just use their talents to do whatever is right.
Ian is someone I can connect with. 80’s music, self-deprecation, I heard that with the BIG ear.

Revisado: 08-12-20
I’ve been a Gaiman fan since before I was born. Since downloaded, I’ve fallen asleep to it every night and had the weirdest wildest dreams, that I remember in the morning. And Death! what a doll! I wonder if she’s old enough to date...

Revisado: 02-17-18
Every talk we get is about acceptance and peace. Anybody that would follow Gideon would be calmly asked to come back and behave like a human being. Some of us may be crazy and blood-thirsty, but that isn't the leadership. Really, man? No sane person would let that crap infest a Temple. It wouldn't happen. Chili is the only redeeming part of the story.

The young warrior clings to his only known purpose as he continues his search for any information about his identity and the reason for his existence. While the hardened warrior scorns both dueling and tournaments, he believes some of the answers he seeks may be found at the King's Tournament, the greatest dueling championship in all of the kingdoms.

Spoiler Alert: 95% Great
Revisado: 11-03-16
I can agree with both Curtis L. and PhD Hiker Girl. The story was fantastic, no pun intended. Most of the character development was realistic. But, to PhD Hiker Girl's point, the females in the story were shallow and 2 dimensional. I couldn't empathize with any of them. I could hardly care less if they all died by Rezkin's hand.
If the main falls in love, the reader should, too. Maybe it's a Venus/Mars thing.

Historia
We colonized 700 planets. Humankind enjoyed the benefits of expansion room and the end of wars. We even disbanded our military. Then the Krall found us. The Krall have used thousands of years of combat to select the genes of the strongest and fastest warriors. They are a species determined to dominate the entire galaxy, through destruction and annihilation of every opponent.
Koban is an uninhabited high-gravity planet with impossibly fast savage animals, which employ organic superconducting nerves. This deadly world is where the Krall tested humans for war capability.

Historia
The prequel to the New York Times best-selling Maze Runner series. Before WICKED was formed, before the Glade was built, before Thomas entered the Maze, sun flares hit the Earth, and mankind fell to disease. Mark and Trina were there when it happened, and they survived. But surviving the sun flares was easy compared to what came next. Now a disease of rage and lunacy races across the eastern United States, and there's something suspicious about its origin. Worse yet, it's mutating, and all evidence suggests that it will bring humanity to its knees.

Psychosis with a Messianic Complex
Revisado: 05-23-15
What disappointed you about The Kill Order?
The entire series is a collection of pointless, brutal violence committed by antagonists and protagonists, alike, justified because they each think that they're smarter and more important than everyone else. Nothing but narcissism and bloodlust hiding behind a weak facade of heroism and what I can only guess is an attempt at supposed redemption.
