Historia
This is a manual designed to get white belts to competent blue belts in as fast a time as possible. Zen Jiu Jitsu is more a rendition of concepts than techniques. This is the simplest and easiest way to break down and simplify the many and varied ideas, philosophies, and combinations in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu arsenal. For both competition Jiu Jitsu and self-defense Jiu Jitsu, most white belts need to fully understand the concepts, but they can be VERY confusing!

Super helpful
Revisado: 08-07-23
As green as it gets. Found the book invaluable. 1 month, maybe 2 into the practice and found the book to be just the kind of cerebral fitness I needed when wrapping my brain around the first five or so classes.

Historia
Man’s Search for Meaning is the chilling yet inspirational story of Viktor Frankl’s struggle to hold on to hope during the unspeakable horrors of his years as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps. Between 1942 and 1945 Frankl labored in four different camps, including Auschwitz, while his parents, brother, and pregnant wife perished. Based on his own experience and the experiences of those he treated in his practice, Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering, but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.

Ugh.. her voice
Revisado: 09-11-22
I was so glad to finish the book, her voice, not a fan, her emotion, and inflection was a little annoying. Otherwise it was good. MAGA!

In the spring of 1933, more than 8,000 Jewish musicians, actors, and other artists were expelled from their positions with German orchestras, opera companies, and theater groups. What a beautiful, heartfelt, gut wrenching story full of sadness and triumph. Poignant and thought provoking, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Historia
One of the most extraordinary literary documents to have emerged from the Soviet Union, this is the story of labor camp inmate Ivan Denisovich Shukhov and his struggle to maintain his dignity in the face of Communist oppression. Based on the author’s own experience in the gulags, where he spent nearly a decade as punishment for making derogatory remarks against Stalin, the novel is an unforgettable portrait of the entire world of Stalin’s forced work camps.

Great book
Revisado: 03-20-21
So interesting and heartbreaking, One Day in the Life felt like a window into the harsh world and experience of life at the mercy of the gulag and the work (slave) camps. It was a good read.
