Historia
In late 1944, America’s recapture of the Philippines is jeopardized by what seems an insurmountable threat from Japan: immense Yamato-class battleships, which dwarf every other ship at sea. Built in total secrecy, these 76,000-ton warships seem invincible. American military intelligence knows of two such ships, but there are rumors of a third, built not as a battleship but as an aircraft carrier. Now ready to go operational from Japan’s heavily defended and mined Inland Sea, a carrier of that size could disrupt the entire invasion effort.

God bless Dame Judy
Revisado: 05-21-24
This is such a joy to read. We are so lucky to have had the opportunity to listen to these two friends share their love for Shakespeare. I do wish they'd left in Judy's cursing though. She is such a joy.

Got to love the verbal gymnastics of HP Lovecraft. Those tucks and rolls through your mind as you try to visualize his words into images. Enjoy the dreams this one could create. 😉

Historia
Set adrift by his pirate crew, Pocket of Dog Snogging - last seen in The Serpent of Venice - washes up on the sun-bleached shores of Greece, where he hopes to dazzle the Duke with his comedic brilliance and become his trusted fool. But the island is in turmoil. Egeus, the Duke’s minister, is furious that his daughter Hermia is determined to marry Demetrius, instead of Lysander, the man he has chosen for her. The Duke decrees that if, by the time of the wedding, Hermia still refuses to marry Lysander, she shall be executed...or consigned to a nunnery.

Revisado: 08-29-21
Pocket is my favorite character of Mr. Moore's. He's smart, but not too smart. Realistic and just plan old GD funny. I truly enjoy seeing the piss taken out of Shakespeare scholars. This is plan fun.

Loved the Historical characters and their perspective at that time. Looking back on that time and those who lived them is hard to hear. And Malcolm does a good job of maintaining a balanced view that I respect and appreciate.

Historia
Finite games, like football or chess, have known players, fixed rules, and a clear endpoint. The winners and losers are easily identified. Infinite games, games with no finish line, like business or politics, or life itself, have players who come and go. The rules of an infinite game are changeable, while infinite games have no defined endpoint. There are no winners or losers - only ahead and behind. The question is, how do we play to succeed in the game we’re in? In this revelatory new audiobook, Simon Sinek offers a framework for leading with an infinite mindset.

great read
Revisado: 08-30-18
This is a great read. One must read this very carefully and not get caught in trap of loosing sight of Lincoln's intent. His purpose was to keep the nation together. Micromanaging control freaking could misread this as a validation of their behavior. Lincoln was not a Micromanager.

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why.
