Historia
Every age and social strata has its bad eggs, rule-breakers, and nose-thumbers. As acclaimed popular historian and author of How to Be a Victorian Ruth Goodman reveals in her madcap chronicle, Elizabethan England was particularly rank with troublemakers, from snooty needlers who took aim with a cutting "thee" to lowbrow drunkards with revolting table manners. Goodman draws on advice manuals, court cases, and sermons to offer this colorfully crude portrait of offenses most foul.

Wonderful book from a remarkable woman historian. Sadly this book was not performed by Ruth Goodman. Worth buying again if Ruth Goodman can be talked into performing the audio recording.

An abridged college textbook version of the classic pirate story, with the added benefit of OVERACTING and Nickelodeon approved sound effects. This audiobook made my co-workers laugh, ad for good reason. A GREAT parody of the classic for Halloween or other, light relaxed social settings. Not well suited for a drive or commute and listen members. If you pick this title set aside a time to pay attention to the overacted silly quality of the selection. If you are in any college or university class with study of this author or this title do NOT pick this version.

NOT the work of Agatha Christie
Revisado: 02-28-18
Shame on the estate of Agatha Christie for agreeing to this convoluted, poorly written, wandering wooly tale be sold under her name!
If you are a fan of Agatha Christie, then skip this farce. Its like thinking you found a Tiffany Lamp only to learn the mark was faked because the shapes were correct on the lamp shade.
The portrayal of Hercule Poirot is diluted, he lacks the sharp wit, keen intelligence, and personality. Any true Christie fan can tell you he drinks hot chocolate, and only has random mugs of coffee with his meals to be polite.
With the horrible unprofessional way Scotland Yard is presented the fraudulent actions of Sophie Hannah could very well end in real legal action. How embarrassing for the historical reputation of this real agency to be insulted by foggy wooly writing.
How can anyone calling themselves a mystery detective have 5 deaths and only investigate 3 murders?
Why would any publisher distribute such a disappointing farce?
If you are a fan of Agatha Christie and you enjoy the books she wrote with Hercule Poirot, then for the sake of your own peace of mind, skip this book. If you enjoy poorly written Fan-Fictions, then this might be just your kind of thing.
This never should have been more than a fan-fiction blog online, the fact that it is a book with Christies name on it is the real crime. There are better fan-fiction blogs online for mystery readers to enjoy.
This book is Narrated by Julian Rhind-Tutt, who does well with narration, but accents, male and female voices and cadence of speaking for different parts all run together. Then again with poor content to perform Rhind-Tutt can not be to harshly judged. With a well written book, his skills may shine.
I invested 11 hours listening and this book was not worth a second of it.

As a fan of her historical studies, I hope that this will be followed by all of her past titles too.

What are Upstanders? Let's start with this: They are the opposite of bystanders. They are problem solvers and protestors, students and parents, professionals and civic leaders. Some fight injustice; others fearlessly challenge the status quo. They are ordinary people who are making extraordinary differences in their communities and beyond. From Salt Lake City to Memphis to Baltimore, Upstanders remind us that participation in civic life has no bounds - and that we can all be the change we wish to see in the world.

Pointless
Revisado: 10-27-17
Total waste of time. The presenter who read the content is nice to listen to, but I feel bad for him because the content was sad, shallow, and very contrived. The greatest pity is that a corporate giant like Starbucks is taking advantage of people who are living their best life for attention to their brand. Released for free right before the yearly communal gag on Christmas cups, this could be a libtard social justice move to outsmart the protest set who still buys pedestrian coffee from this overpriced store.
Skip this free offering and move right along.
This track is an insult to the listeners intellect, and to those exploited in the 11 poorly organised chapters.
If you must drink coffee as you listen pour-over brew your own Lavazza, or Illy coffee and skip the over the counter swill advertised here.

Total waste of time, 50 minute advertisement.
Revisado: 09-02-17
What disappointed you about Cesar Millan's Guide to Audiobooks for Dogs?
This is all about picking audio books for your DOG! I have had the best luck leaving an amplitude modulation talk radio station on the stereo for my pack when they need entertainment.. Advice boils down to add 20 minutes to your dogs walk and let them listen to Audible. More foolishness for people who buy their dogs technology.
Has Cesar Millan's Guide to Audiobooks for Dogs turned you off from other books in this genre?
Stick to the standard titles by Mr. Millian, where you can find information about training and advice to build your pack.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Lending his voice to sell getting an Audible device and or account for your dog is below the expectations for Mr. Millian held by pack leaders who train with his methods. What next Cesar, do our dogs need their own email accounts too?

Reshuffle the Deck of Chapters Please
Revisado: 12-11-16
Any additional comments?
The history is valid, conformable and presented in a very confusing way. The author has a nutball idea that switching from the life of Mary Wollstoencraft,Godwin, and the life of her daughter Mary Godwin Shelley, is a useful literary tool. This works against the information and the story. If the chapters were reshuffled so that you could start with the life of Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin and then hear the life of Mary Godwin Shelley the book would be much clearer. Chapters for the men in key rolls in each Mary's life would improve this book to read and listen to also.If this book were properly organized I would buy it again. This confusing attempt at publishing a book with a creative twists really sad because the information is timely and valid for women today.

Teaser that could have been a pleaser
Revisado: 04-05-16
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is a must for all Audible users, it offers a chance to hear how many readers perform for the audio copy of many great reads/listens.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The Encyclopaedia Britannica: A Dictionary of Arts, Sciences, Literature and General Information, Eleventh Edition, this educational reference book took center stage in this selection.
Which character – as performed by full cast – was your favorite?
Each performer did a top notch job. I find it sad that it was edited down to be so short. Each reader should have shared a full selection from the Encyclopaedia.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
This was not an emotional selection, so I was not moved to feel any emotion, at any point in the less than 20 minutes. This easily could have been an hour and included more performers than it had to offer.
Any additional comments?
I do really hope audible is seriously considering recording this Encyclopaedia for student use. The usable result would benefit many college students using Audible.
