Love the ending and hating the end!

Every beginning needs an end. This was a GREAT ending to this series that resolved the major elements of the story while leaving the door unlocked for what will inevitably be a much anticipated return if there are ever more installments. Well written, well performed, and well ended!

My only criticism about this work or any of the others put out by DS and AP is that I get so caught up in the story that I hate for them to end! Another great installment and another Amazing narration!

Can the rabbit hole get any deeper?

I'll not include any spoilers here but will give kudos to the ability of the author to take us on a roller coaster plot ride. I feel like I've been twisted, turned, and flipped upside down but am excited and eagerly awaiting the next ride. The complexity of the "real world" actions of the characters and their growing web of relationships as well as the in-game action, planning, and character progression in this novel makes it a extremely well done piece of an already amazing series. I also appreciate the lack of "filler" that comes with some other series' characters constantly checking of their status and skills. I'm interested to see where this game of chess on steroids goes and to figure out who are the actual players and who are just the pieces on the board.

Awesome Twist!

While I won't include details that would spoil this series for other readers, I love how this author (under either name) continues to fold the stories of all these characters and worlds on top of each other. I'm very interested to see where these stories that started from one guy climbing a tree to fight a wolf will ultimately find its conclusion. Another great installment in the Runner-verse and, as always, an excellent performance by Andrea!

A bit of a let down

I'll start by saying that I'm a big fan of this series. The detailed depictions create a marvelous and wonderous world. That being said, while there was a lot of introspection and character development in Monsters, there is very little story and plot progression. Comparing this installment to Predators is akin to comparing a short story to a blockbuster movie script. The performance was excellent as always but it felt like we were halfway through this book before we addressed all the prompts from the end of Predators. I'm still a fan but after eagerly awaiting this installment to find out what happens after the shocking turns of events that conclude Predators, I feel like I'm still waiting at the end of Monsters.

What a finale!

WOW! What an amazing ending to this series! It was well paced and left me with no lingering questions. Although there are sad portions of the story's conclusion (no spoilers), it was remarkably well written with lots of unexpected twists. Jeff Hays was amazing, as always. This series is a perfect example of what happens when excellent stories find exquisite narration.

Not the same...

Huge fan of this series and huge fan of Luke Daniels but didn't love the combination. After 4 books in the series with Adam the characters took on a personality that I didn't really get from this latest installment. I enjoyed the story, but it just wasn't the same...

Great Story! HORRIBLE Narration!!!

I've read the entire series and have been awaiting the release of the Audiobooks. This was a very disappointing narration. This seemed to be the first run of his first narration ever. There were mispronounced words throughout as well as points where the narrator stumbled over the words. Not sure if I woud buy the next installment if released under the same narrator.

Hate it and Love it!

I hate that the series has ended but I also love that it has a conclusion. So many authors stretch their stories in order to get an extra book or two or five. While this was an extended series, I don't feel like it was drawn out. Thank you Mr. Akella for an awesome and thrilling literary ride!
