Historia
It's March, 1943. World War II rages across the globe, and 25-year-old Nora Lindstrom is about to take a huge leap of faith. One of the few women in the male-dominated field of physics, she travels to an undisclosed destination to undertake a vital, top-secret project that the government insists could help the Allies win the war. At 18, Mary Trask is ready to put high school and the boy who wants to marry her in her rear-view mirror. But what alternative could the future hold for the dyslexic daughter of a train conductor?

Spectacular eye opening book
Revisado: 05-24-24
Nice even pacing. Eye opening details. All of the sapphic love I need and emotional connections that ring true. Great read for anyone interested in history, the time period, and sapphic storylines.

Historia
Rick and Ernie found the perfect apartment on Chicago’s West Side. Before they’re settled, Rick begins having all-too-real disturbing “dreams”. Each time, an emaciated young man with sad brown eyes appears, terrifying and obsessing him. From their next-door neighbor Paula, Rick learns about Karl and Tommy, who lived there before them. When she shares a photo of her with Tommy and Karl, Rick is shocked and troubled. Tommy is the man who appears to him in his dreams. The ghostly visitations compel Rick to uncover the truth about Tommy’s disappearance.

Leveled again by Rick R. Reed
Revisado: 12-08-21
Rick R. Reed levels me again with an emotional push-pull rollercoaster in a two-fold story of twisted romance burdened by addiction and dependence. Drawn to an apartment by its tempting aesthetic, Rick, with boyfriend Ernie, encounters a lost soul. To break free from the madness, he seeks out answers to find peace for them both.
I’m not necessarily a paranormal reader but the way Reed can make the reader feel, through characterization and mood, is remarkable. I was exhausted and empty in parts, and I loved it—terrified by the drugs as well as the paranormal. I’m glad I read this novel and will seek out more. They don’t all stick with you, but Rick R. Reed books sure do. The narrator was excellent and carried the story with even pacing, appropriate inflection, and strong vocal qualities. Couldn’t tie a better bow!
