Historia
Bill Gates shares what he's learned in more than a decade of studying climate change and investing in innovations to address the problems, and sets out a vision for how the world can build the tools it needs to get to zero greenhouse gas emissions. Bill Gates explains why he cares so deeply about climate change and what makes him optimistic that the world can avoid the most dire effects of the climate crisis. Gates says, "We can work on a local, national, and global level to build the technologies, businesses, and industries to avoid the worst impacts of climate change."

Excellent book. I would have added a chapter
Revisado: 04-30-21
Gates is right on but does make some mistakes. To win middle class America, people MUST STOP PROSELYTIZING. The middle class is worried about making sure their kids have money to go to college, making enough money to pay their mortgage... Stop brow beating the middle class. They are sympathetic to those who are less fortunate, but it's far from their top 10. Green hearts may be stunned by that, but it's true. Make more of an effort to show why it's in their best interest to do these things.
Secondly, I don't believe in no-win situations. Gates' belief that green energy must be more expensive than fossil fuel is wrong. There shouldn't have to be a green premium. Gates says he believes in Innovation but says it MUST cost more. Why?
The way to win hearts of the middle and lower income people in the developed world is to give them hope that their income(lives) will be positively affected. Telling them to eat less meat makes me roll my eyes.
This all sounds like I hated the book, I didn't. He's right in so many other ways. His foundations are brilliant, his Breakthrough Energy consortium will make a big difference, although I find it hysterical that he needs to make money on the investments. He shows heart to the developing world, but very little in my opinion to those that made him his Cha-ching $$. Grant the the money to these young start-ups Bill. It will make it easier to get over the hump and through the "Valley of Death".

Enjoyed the book a lot
Revisado: 08-30-19
The book has clear goals and hits the mark mostly. Some of the grandiose claims that it will guide you on your path is met with some superficial explanations. However, it attains the most important goal in explaining the 3 types of people and personality types required to push along a business successfully.
I would recommend this book.

Lot of insightful content. Most VC related books are feel good, this book is not.
Was it necessary to include using rapper content using the N word? Come on.

Not a fan of the readers switching back and forth. There's also an area where two different readers read the same material.
Overall content is a must for anyone looking for VC money. One of my favorite books on audible.

The readers voice is pleasant which is huge on an audio-book.

This has become my favorite business book
Revisado: 11-22-18
Starts off a little slow but soon gets into a flow.
Don't begin a startup without reading this book first. You will likely regret it if you do, I know I do. My last 2 businesses flopped when I was sure they would be wildly successful. The hardest part of listening to this book was knowing we did exactly what Howard says you'll do. It was just as disastrous as he says it'll be right on queue.

Wiill admit that some of it made my eyes glaze over and will need to listen to it again. I had a funny side that was appealing and the reader knew his material.
Would recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone looking to start up and new company. I'm on company 3 and still found it useful. Only wish that the Foundry Group handled CleanTech as I'd love to do business with them.

Peter does a great job in laying it out like it is. I don't believe everything is correct but this analysis is subjective. I'd do business with Peter any day.
