Historia
In the late August of AD 79, the inhabitants of Pompeii and Herculaneum are going about their normal business in the late summer heat. Two of them have a room share arrangement: Nonius, scrounger, thief and failed pimp works by night and sleeps by day; Larius, the fresco painter with dreams of artistic greatness, does the opposite. When just after midday the summit of Vesuvius disappears in a vast volcanic ash cloud, their lives will change forever.

What are we calling audio novellas?
Revisado: 08-06-18
Stories about historical disasters are different in that the characters cannot stop the looming event, unlike your traditional stories where we expect them to do so. This changes the way I experience the story to make it much more about the characters themselves, their merits and failings and ultimately their fate in regards to the inevitable that we know is coming.
I enjoyed finding out the fate of Falco's nephew, and Lindsey Davis did a terrific job of adding in other characters to illustrate what happened that day Vesuvius erupted.

Historia
This landmark production, perhaps the most ambitious radio project ever attempted, began when Star Wars creator George Lucas donated the story rights to an NPR affiliate. Writer Brian Daley adapted the film's highly visual script to the special demands and unique possibilities of radio, creating a more richly textured tale with greater emphasis on character development.

Memories from Childhood
Revisado: 06-16-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Star Wars (Dramatized) to be better than the print version?
Let's compare it to the film version instead: not as good as the film, but the expanded script and additional information they are able to include makes it interesting for fans of the film.
What other book might you compare Star Wars (Dramatized) to and why?
I would compare it to the classic pulp adventure stories, like Flash Gordon, and John Carter of Mars in that the hero wins, good is easily defined vs the evil, and there is a lot of daring do committed by small groups that enables victory.
Which character – as performed by Mark Hamill and Anthony Daniels – was your favorite?
This form questionnaire asked me to choose from Mark Hamill or Anthony Daniels b/c it doesn't recognize that this was a full cast performance. I liked the job done by Brock Peters as Darth Vader best.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I thought given the extra backstory about Biggs Darklighter in this presentation, it made his death more compelling.

Not as bad as some of the reviews
Revisado: 01-19-15
This is another wonderful entry in the Barsoom saga, and I did enjoy the story. One specific comment I'd like to make is in regards to the quality of the narration; while not the best quality or consistency it is certainly not so bad as to cause me to want to return my purchase or stop listening. IMO if you like Barsoom this version will do until a better version becomes available.
