Historia
In Companions in the Darkness, Diana Gruver looks back into church history and finds depression in the lives of some of our most beloved saints, including Martin Luther, Charles Spurgeon, Mother Teresa, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Without trying to diagnose these figures from a distance, Gruver tells their stories in fresh ways, taking from each a particular lesson that can encourage or guide those who suffer today. Drawing on her own experience with depression, Gruver offers a wealth of practical wisdom both for those in the darkness and those who care for them.

Great material for Christians with depression.

This is what many people need to hear, especially in the church that many others; Jesus followers won’t feel so alone after listening to this.
It’s well written, informative, and so helpful.

Historia
In Shadows of Death, acclaimed author Katherine Ramsland takes listeners on a tour of New Jersey, New York and Delaware. Home of the Jersey Devil, New Jersey has its share of other devils, from predatory nurses to thrill killers and sadists. The Empire State has witnessed many unique and perverse crimes. Quite a few triggered international headlines. The first documented female serial killer in the US came out of the tiny state of Delaware, as did a "signature killer" who attracted FBI profilers.

Historia
In 1895, William James, the father of American philosophy, delivered a lecture entitled "Is Life Worth Living?" It was no theoretical question for James, who had contemplated suicide during an existential crisis as a young man a quarter century earlier. Sick Souls, Healthy Minds is a compelling introduction to James's life and thought that shows why the founder of pragmatism and empirical psychology -and an inspiration for Alcoholics Anonymous - can still speak so directly and profoundly to anyone struggling to make a life worth living.

Narrative is terrible - I had to quit
Revisado: 12-17-21
The book is great, but the narrator puts on a horrible fake accent for James. It ruins the book

Says it is factual than takes a turn for fiction.

Says it is factual than takes a turn for fiction.

I liked this until the Bielski show which was awful.
The claim to be objective was blown away.
I lived in Poland and know very well that these men and the followers were just bandits and murderers and killed villagers and than conveniently labeled them Nazis.
