Historia
In this book, Riley scrutinizes the perspectives of athletes on the opposing side of this debate, deconstructing their arguments with science, facts, and logic. She also asks what has happened to free speech and dissent in this country, where it now seems nearly impossible to have a well-reasoned debate. And in telling her story, Riley reveals what’s at stake if the truth-seekers remain silent about the injustices women face from radical agendas.

Historia
Meet Ove. He’s a curmudgeon—the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness. So when one November morning a chatty young couple with two chatty young daughters move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove’s mailbox, it is the lead-in to a comical and heartwarming tale of unkempt cats, unexpected friendship, and the ancient art of backing up a U-Haul.

Historia
Frederick Douglass was born in slavery in Talbot County, Maryland. During service to masters cruel and kind, he nevertheless learned to read and write. After suffering whippings, hunger, heat, cold, and grueling labor, he escaped from slavery in 1838. In 1841 he addressed an Anti-Slavery Society convention and spoke so eloquently that they immediately employed him as an agent. He was such an impressive orator, numerous persons doubted if he had ever been a slave.

Best Story
Revisado: 04-28-21
This book covers an disgusting time in our history as a country. Frederick Douglas' Christian perspective and his desire for liberty and freedom are inspiring. What a tragedy some think socialism is good. Socialism, like Slavery, take away freedom and liberty. Great autobiography.

Historia
Liberalism or How to Turn Good Men into Whiners, Weenies and Wimps documents the role of the 21 white, self-avowed socialist, atheist, and Marxist founders of the NAACP and their impact on the black community's present status at the top of our nation's misery index. It highlights the decades of anti-black legislation supported by liberal black leaders who prioritized class over race in their zeal for the promises of socialism.

Revisado: 01-29-21
Stunning, fact based, historical review of why there are seemingly never ending problems within white and black cultures in our country. A must read book that will restore your faith in the greatness of America and the disastrous effects of socialism.

Historia
Bloodlands is a new kind of European history, presenting the mass murders committed by the Nazi and Stalinist regimes as two aspects of a single history, in the time and place where they occurred: between Germany and Russia, when Hitler and Stalin both held power. Assiduously researched, deeply humane, and utterly definitive, Bloodlands will be required listening for anyone seeking to understand the central tragedy of modern history.

Historia
Jeanne Wakatsuki was seven years old in 1942 when her family was uprooted from their home and sent to live at Manzanar internment camp - with 10,000 other Japanese Americans. Along with searchlight towers and armed guards, Manzanar ludicrously featured cheerleaders, Boy Scouts, sock hops, baton-twirling lessons, and a dance band called the Jive Bombers who would play any popular song except the nation's number-one hit: "Don't Fence Me In".
Farewell to Manzanar is the true story of one spirited Japanese-American family's attempt to survive the indignities of forced detention.

For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Incredible Drive
Revisado: 12-23-18
David has accomplished enough life experiences two sum up two or three lives. It is a good story about overcoming obstacles most put in place by himself because he saw it as a challenge. Most quit after failing, he was driven by it.
I would have enjoyed it much more without the constant profanity.

In this illuminating memoir, McChrystal frankly explores the major episodes and controversies of his eventful career. He delves candidly into the intersection of history, leadership, and his own experience to produce a book of enduring value. Joining the troubled post-Vietnam army as a young officer, McChrystal witnessed and participated in some of our military’s most difficult struggles. He describes the many outstanding leaders he served with and the handful of bad leaders he learned not to emulate.

Revisado: 11-24-18
This was a fantastic review of the insights to a war that was all but standard. I admired Gen McChrystal for his handling of the accident on green ramp while at the 82nd . I also admire him for his dedication to our country and his career as a role model soldier and leader.
