Historia
Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

I don’t normally write reviews because honestly I don’t want to take the time to do it. However this audio book took me by such surprise I had to write.
A freebie which I decided to listen to at the last minute, Heidi’s Guide was well worth it. I have never laughed so hard and loud while listening to a book. I usually listen getting dressed for work. Yet I was so entertained I listened through an entire evening just to see what happened. I had one tear escape but mostly laughter.
I would recommend this to anyone who is weird like me and enjoys a gut wrenching laugh. After all laughter is good for the soul. “Dontcha know!”

Historia
Justin has a curse, and thanks to a Reddit thread, it's now all over the internet. Every woman he dates goes on to find their soul mate the second they break up. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up. Their curses will cancel each other’s out, and they’ll both go on to find the love of their lives. It’s a bonkers idea… and it just might work.

Historia
Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good. But as they say, all good things come to an end. One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there.

Historia
Becky still adores the traditions of Christmas: Her parents host, carols play on repeat, her mother pretends she made the Christmas pudding, and the neighbors come ’round for sherry in their terrible holiday sweaters. Things are looking cheerier than ever, until Becky’s parents announce they’re moving to ultra-trendy Shoreditch - unable to resist the draw of craft beer and smashed avocados - and ask Becky if she’ll host this year. What could possibly go wrong?

I started this and then stopped because I couldn’t get into it. However I had a long drive and figured I would try again. Found myself laughing and ahhhing. I think the title is misleading as is the first couple of chapters.

I loved this book. Finished it very quickly.
I did have a problem with the narrators pronunciation of the words “a” and “the”. They were extremely stiff and formal. Sometimes it made it hard to get past.

I love Nora Roberts!!
Now that is out of the way, I might have enjoyed the book more if I had read it rather than listened to it. I’m from Mississippi and lived almost 30 years in Bolivar County Beginning in 1993. Between the narrator’ accent which is most definitely South Carolina, and the descriptions and language, I had a hard time correlating to the late 1990s. I often kept thinking of the 1950s. The area is not as prejudiced or segregated as it was. Though it still exists. And some of the geography didn’t match up to what I know.
Still a good mystery. I was almost there in figuring it out.
