Like other reviews say it’s the narrator
Revisado: 07-06-23
It’s specifically the male narrator, though the female narrator was also meh but I could deal. His voice is a bit slow/whiny and I’d rather listen to a fake male’s voice than his. I was so excited to see this on audible. I’ll just stick to the kindle versions. Rarely do these companies listen to the customers. If the next books are on audible I’ll bet it’ll be the same trash narration.

I caught the attention of a monster. I didn’t ask for it. Didn’t even see it coming. But the moment I do, it’s too late. Killian Carson is a predator wrapped in sophisticated charm. He’s cold-blooded, manipulative, and savage. The worst part is that no one sees his devil side. I do. And that will cost me everything. I run, but the thing about monsters? They always chase.

Yes, trigger warning may be needed
Revisado: 07-16-22
This book is obviously not for young teens or anyone triggered by sexual assault, blackmail, etc. However with that being said, it’s important to read the actual book description. Given that this is Rina Kent I expected it to be dark. I quite enjoyed it. Killian is literally the ‘I don’t care about anyone but you’ guy trope. Yes, he has a disability (ASPD) which is romanticized and in reality he would not make a good lover. It’s just a fictional a story that calls to my darker side, it was hot.
I hope Rina Kent continues to make stories where the character has ASPD or another personality disorder. It’s interesting reading about characters who aren’t neurotypical.
Didn’t love the narrators choices for the main characters though, but it was bearable. For 19 year olds Sebastian York sounds too old and Josie is bad at male voices. For the female definitely should have chosen Addison Barnes!

Historia
The king of wolves was more beast than man, more tyrant than king, and so much more than he seemed. Raised to avenge his murdered parents, he’d been trained and conditioned until nothing but violence and hatred lined the walls of his dead heart. For nearly four years, I’d done all I could to help my kingdom as we faced the wolf king’s unconquerable evil — hardly anything at all. As the only heir to the Gracewood line, I’d been relegated to menial

Oh my…yes the male narrator is trash
Revisado: 06-28-22
I thought the male narrator wouldn’t be so bad, I even listened to a previous solo recording, this doesn’t sound like those. He makes the prince sound like an old British bumbling villain. Not a sexy villainous prince.
The female narrator is much better, even though she’s not the best one I’ve heard, 2 stars for the performance only because of her, it’d be -5 without.
Just who choose this man? He reads a little less than 1/3 of the chapters and since I like audiobooks, I just read his chapters on kindle instead.
The story itself is interesting.

Historia
Dark Falls, the most prestigious school in the three realms, is in session. Brooding vampires, snarky mermaids, and vicious Fae all want a piece of me, and they're not willing to ask permission. Flynn, the cruel bully. Trent, the thirsty vampire. And Cole, the dark Fae prince. I hate him most of all. How am I supposed to kick their asses in the arena and in the classroom with all the mysteries and dangers lurking in the stony halls? I'm mortal. They will live forever. They want me out of the academy. They are beautiful. Devious. Relentless.

A Nice Surprise
Revisado: 06-04-22
This was good, honestly I picked this up because it wasn’t a reverse harem academy romance (there are so many of those and I honestly don’t like them much) but still featured other men as characters. Next I like Addison Barnes, her male voices do not sound like an obvious woman lol and her cadence is good.
If you like magic in a university setting, a heroine who doesn’t yield even when she’s not the most powerful, and fae princes you’ll like this. There were definitely some times I was frustrated when Jules continually was weak against fae glamour but I did see some growth. I also wish there were more hot moments with the prince, they all came at the end!
There’s some mystery elements to the story and I’m excited to see where this goes.
Book 2 is going to take a while, if you read these Ms. Cosgrove please make book 2 on audible and come out in October like the kindle version! :-)

Oh the micro aggressions
Revisado: 06-02-22
No wonder this book was free, it’s written by a 12 year old with the body of an old white Karen. Love how first her ‘black friend’ is portrayed as a stereotypical rude black woman but it has to mention her weave in a negative light. Like your Karen cut is so stylish. If you insist on adding a black sidekick you can at least pander to your non-white readers and make a decent black female character. If not don’t bother writing one at all.
Narrator sucked too, you definitely can’t code switch and you should not have tried. It was pathetic and just came off badly.

I’m a Gemini. Impulsive. Curious. Headstrong. A twin. Heir to a throne I know nothing about. And it turns out, I’m Fae. But of course, there’s a catch - all I have to do to claim my birthright is prove that I’m the most powerful supernatural in the whole of Solaria. And sure, technically that’s true, as I’m the daughter of the Savage King. But the bit they didn’t put in the brochure was that every single Fae in this Kingdom would claim my throne if they could.

This is not ‘hot bullying’
Revisado: 06-04-21
This is not my first bully romance by any means, however the bullying in this gets progressively worse and irritating. In other bully romances, yes the guy is horrible and cruel but they show moments of kindness, there’s some balance. This story had very few such moments.... The twins are the victims yet you can’t help but dislike them too. I’m not looking for a Mary Sue but dang can’t they learn more? The authors barely talked about them practicing at all! We don’t have to be at the point where we can kick the celestial heir’s bums but not even their minions? Seriously? And apparently it’s like that until the 5th book, Not sure if I can hang on long enough even though I love the story’s premise and astrology.

It seems a lot of the new reviews mention too much sex but I don’t feel that way, this book is literally a day long and probably 4 hours worth of sex. 16% might be a lot for some people I guess.
Anyway I saw more character development in this and a few twist I didn’t necessarily expect. Overall the story is great and interesting. I gave the story a 4 for the repetitiveness of some words...you’ll see lol.

The narrator! Ugh, the voices were ok until the best friend. What a shrill high pitcher voice. It’s so bad, what was she thinking??

Red coated his lips, vibrant against that ivory skin. He was the devil incarnate, dressed impeccably in Armani, and I had never seen a sight more terrifying. When diagnosed with a fatal illness at the age of 26, Eleanor Gray is resigned to her fate - at least until the enigmatic Dublin Helos appears and makes her an offer she knows she should refuse. Life or death? With a decision as harmless as checking the wrong box on a mysterious questionnaire, Ellie is plunged into a dangerous world where souls are sold to the highest bidder and pleasure is fueled by pain.

Historia
I wondered what my life would have been like if we had never moved to the ho-dunk town of Spring Valley, Illinois. Sure the internet service was splotchy, there was nothing but miles of wheat fields, and I probably wouldn't be faced with death at every corner. My only neighbor in this god-forsaken town was...well there really was only one to describe him, hot as hell. With his sinful dark looks, unusually silver eyes, and kissable lips, there was something about him that was more than meets the eye.

Yes it seems like a copy of the Lux series
Revisado: 08-09-15
So I want to start off by saying it seems a lot like the Lux series by JLA. But they are published in the same year with the Lux series being first. I'm going to give the author the benefit of the doubt and say she just maybe had a similar idea and used JLA's story as a huge model.
Personally I'm okay with it, the Lux series is good and it's fun to read/listen to a similar story. If you like tragic romances with angsty teens, demons, and lots of romance and drama you'll enjoy this.
