I loved this book! Royce and Hadrian are those buddies you enjoy hanging around. MJS brought the gang together on a holiday adventure that encompassed murder, mystery, romance and Royce's stinging one liners. Highly recommend!

Excellent Premise

I'll preface this by saying that I'm a big fan of Jonathan Mayberry. I enjoyed this book, but it suffered from what I perceive as poor editing. There were too many repeats of the context throughout the book. It spoiled the suspense and took me out of the story to hear the same info repeat over and over again.
If corrected in the next book, this will easily be a 5-star, fast paced, sci-fi story with heroes you can root for.

Interesting but disappointing

Normally, I love Jonathan Mayberry's work. This had an interesting premise and provided some moments of intrigue. However, the characters were so dense! I especially hated the protagonist's boyfriend. I feel like most of his dialogue was devoted to screaming "Abbbyyyyy".
Ultimately, if the next book is included with Audible, then I will probably listen to it. But, I don't see myself paying for it.

I couldn't stop listening. Very exciting. If I had been reading, I would have been speed reading to find out what happened next. This would make a great movie/TV series. Actually, the writing was such that the mental visuals were amazing- like seeing a movie. I'm starting the next book now.
