Phaedra Patrick does it, again!

I've read all of Ms. Patrick's books, and each one is a reliable palette cleanser, while still being thoughtful. She is following her tried and true formula, in this novel. A story of someone being stuck and unhappy, who has their perception upended by romantic happenstance. Colorful characters and gentle adventures abound!
I would like to see a different type of protagonist in her future works. But I'm not bored, yet!

There is no shortage of disturbing imagery. I recommend one read this only in daylight! While an unsettling psychological thriller, it is also a masterful morality story about coming to terms with grief, and allowing the dead their dignity.
