These audible original productions are fantastic. I have not listened to a bad one. The Guilty was a great! It was almost as good as going to live theater. Having a full cast really brings the story alive. It’s worth listening to if you love a good murder mystery.

Don’t let the 18 hour length put you off. This was an incredibly well told history of the Vanderbilt family. The author’s access to personal diaries really helped make the story of the rise and fall of this family and its fortune come to life.

This book was extremely helpful in identifying communication styles by not only using the different types of birds but also giving examples of how our styles of communication are not always as effective as we think. The examples show how our different styles can be perceived by others and gives guidance on what we can do to minimize breakdowns in communication. It was very entertaining to listen to as well.

You know how you have so much emotion and so many thoughts about something and you sometimes don’t have the words to convey those big emotions to others? Well, Chad Sanders does that for his fellow African Americans who struggle with organizing their words, thoughts, and emotions into a powerful coherent story. His journey, frustrations and fears are common. But what is not common is the honesty he has talking about them. I couldn’t put this down because I saw so much of my own journey and struggle in his story. These episodes are not just for the millennials. His story will resonate with those of us in an older generation.

The content was great even though some examples might be a little dated. I learned a lot as an entrepreneur and non- marketing person. The biggest issue with the book is the narration at normal speed will put you to sleep. Had to listen at 1.3 speed. I think it made the jokes funnier.

I’m not a native Texan but my son is. After having lived here for more years than where I grew up I thought it was about time I learned some Texas history. This book did not disappoint! It is an engrossing tale of birth of oil wealth in the state combined with a little soap opera except all true. If you want an engaging history of Texas not likely to be found in a text book then I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

The powers that be used the same narrator in this final installment as in volume 2. While his narration improved some, he at least didn’t sound angry the whole book, the narration still dampened my enjoyment. His pacing was still fast and his attempt at a woman’s voice was a cross between sounding like a 12yo and a vapid 21yo. The story was still good. The only reason I listened to all 3 installments was because I subscribe to audible escape. If I didn’t have the subscription I would have returned book 2 and not listened to book 3 despite there being an annoying cliffhanger. So, For all you listeners, save your ears. Listen to book 1 but read books 2 & 3 and save your credits.

The Narration kills this book

The story is solid although a little farsical from a legal perspective with the whole marriage and heir clause but hey, I don’t listen to these books for reality. For some crazy reason, they switched narrators. This volume has a sole male narrator. Throughout the whole book his pacing is too fast and he sounds angry. He can’t do female voices. His narration makes it hard to get through the book. Like the first book, this one ends when a significant event in the story happens. This too is incredibly annoying. Just make it one longer book!

Every romance novel should be narrated in this duel style, the male lead reading all his parts and the female lead reading all hers. It’s annoying having to listen to a woman try to talk in a male voice. The dual narration lends so much more to the story. Both narrators were wonderful. No annoying speech patterns. This was a great story as well.
