Historia
To become a Dark Lord is no easy thing. The simple ambition to hold dominion over the world and bend all to your will sounds straightforward, but it's not. There are armies to raise, fortresses to build, heroes to defeat, and battles to be fought. After many spectacular failures, Evil decided to lend more than inspiration to these would-be tyrants. He wrote an easy-to-follow Dark Lord's Handbook. And yet the next Dark Lord that came along screwed up like all the others.

Started out good but turned into a drag
Revisado: 01-12-15
Would you try another book from Paul Dale and/or Gildart Jackson?
No, this felt like a cringe worthy attempt at a disc world novel.
What could Paul Dale have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Learn to actually develop characters instead of just talking about how they are suppose to be, and possible add some women who are annoying as hell and actually have more than 1 dimension of being evil/contrary/hot. Also... maybe come up with a more original name for the dragon than the one right out of World of Warcraft? Come on! He even mentions the Black Dragonflight WTF?
What didn’t you like about Gildart Jackson’s performance?
Spoke way too slowly and the voice acting as lady deathwing was unbearable, also the accents changed randomly so you can't tell who he is suppose to be.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Dark Lord's Handbook?
The entire middle section about a pointless voyage and a ridiculous war.

Historia
Last year, Night Shade Books unleashed The Book of Cthulhu onto an unsuspecting world. Critically acclaimed as the ultimate Cthulhu anthology” and a must read’ for fans of Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos,” The Book of Cthulhu went where no collection of mythos tales had gone before: to the very edge of madness and beyond. For nearly a century, H. P. Lovecraft’s tales of malevolent Great Old Ones existing beyond the dimensions of this world, beyond the borders of sanity, have captured and held the imaginations of writers and aficionados of the dark, the macabre, the fantastic, and the horrible. Now, because you demanded more, anthologist Ross E. Lockhart has risked all to dive back into the Cthulhu canon, combing through mind-shattering manuscripts and moldering tomes to bring you The Book of Cthulhu 2, with even more tales of tentacles, terror, and madness.

Annoying narrators, decent stories
Revisado: 09-12-14
Would you consider the audio edition of The Book of Cthulhu II to be better than the print version?
No, some of the narration is just horrible. Especially the female voice.
What did you like best about this story?
Theres quite a few stories some good some bad, quite a few gems but the Neil Gaiman one definitely isn't it.
Would you be willing to try another one of Teresa DeBerry and Fleet Cooper ’s performances?
No!
If you could take any character from The Book of Cthulhu II out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Cthulu, because he's a giant serving of octo-squid sushi.

Agatha Award-winning author Rhys Bowen’s charming combination of intrigue and romance blended with a touch of humor shines when performed by Audible Hall of Fame narrator Katherine Kellgren, whose deft range and impeccable accent work make it hard to believe this isn’t a multicast performance.

Would you try another book from Rhys Bowen and/or Katherine Kellgren?
No thanks.
Was Her Royal Spyness worth the listening time?
The villain was so predictable it was groan-worthy. No "detecting" is actually done by the narrator, its all handled by her friend, who is infinitely more interesting than her. The whole book just dragged on and on with nothing much happening. Waste of time.

not very good
Revisado: 05-30-14
Would you try another book from the authors and/or Simon Vance and Anne Flosnik ?
no
Has The Improbable Adventures of Sherlock Holmes turned you off from other books in this genre?
yes
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The female narrator is incredibly bad, speaking in a completely racist tone and horribly over acting. The introduction narrator is also terrible and speaks like the listener is retarded, there is no need for a over long introduction before each story that is a mere recitation of the author's prior publishings. Sooo incredibly frustrating to listen to.
