Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Bravo, Prince Harry and Your fabulous wife, Meghan!!!!!!
Revisado: 01-14-23
Clearly the paps have tried to sensationalize tiny reflections and paint them black. This book is wonderfully written and fabulously narrated. (You could make a living reading aloud with your soothing voice) The book isn’t overly dramatized, whinny, or trivial. Any person with an open mind can see their own family struggles, scaled down but still as relevant in the life of the spare. I have heard all the swiping at The Prince for what he has said and done and I find him captivating, human, sincere and the most genuine of the bunch. Just imagine what was written on the Palace’s social media accounts and not removed. He’s a galant Prince who stood up for and by his wife as she was persecuted. He was cut off by his father and security stripped…so I hope he makes millions on Netflix, this well written memoir and any other endeavor he pursues. He comes by it honestly. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has dealt with being lied about, who has had struggles being heard by their family, and for those who have felt lost in their path in life. The book is recommend for those who judge without sufficient discovery. The only thing he said that cast dispersions on his family was their failure to act with compassion, failure to protect, and respect. They own that p, not Harry. He simply stated the facts as he saw them. I saw an video of his mom and she was raised by a family with no hugs. Ironic. This simply is candid and relevant to anyone. You don’t need to be interested in British Royalty…it speaks to us all. Now, if you don’t mind…I am going to look up that phenomenal poem written by a very young Meghan Markle.

Historia
In 1986, Paul Newman and his closest friend, screenwriter Stewart Stern, began an extraordinary project. Stuart was to compile an oral history, to have Newman’s family and friends and those who worked closely with him, talk about the actor’s life. And then Newman would work with Stewart and give his side of the story. The only stipulation was that anyone who spoke on the record had to be completely honest. The result is The Extraordinary Life of an Ordinary Man—revelatory and introspective, personal and analytical, loving and tender in places, always complex and profound.

Uplifting and Grounded
Revisado: 10-25-22
I think when you have long loved a subject it is gratifying to know they struggle with issues you can relate to. He acknowledges the gift of his face and allows you to see the burden of it as well. The packaging , so lovely, it gave rise to turmoil in his soul.
I can’t imagine an narrator doing a better job than Jeff Danials. Jeff is superb in this role.
As someone who constantly analyses themselves, I found his journey inspirational. I think this book has a great deal of insight into self improvement. It is worth the read.

Historia
Photographer Isla Wilson is thrilled she's landed her dream job, but the clients who hired her are getting stranger by the day. It sounded so perfect—a month's assignment at the lush Scottish Highlands property of architect Alban McGregor, and his wife, Jessica. But in the woods, there's a playhouse with a chilling history. Two years ago, the McGregors' daughter Elodie was abducted and then died in that playhouse. The townspeople insist her abductor had to be a stranger in their town. Alban refuses to knock the playhouse down, even keeping a picture of it on his wall.

Thread Bare and illogical
Revisado: 10-05-22
This book was meandering and baffling. I kept waiting for it to be strung together and it didn’t happen. I gave it this rating because the writer didn’t construct a plausible story. The characters didn’t have any recognizable features because there was no physical explanation to go with the personalities . I kept with it and was left with ambivalence.

Oh, what a Dame, American Treasure, my Thanks.
Revisado: 09-30-22
I had a mother who mirrored Jane’s choice during the Vietnam War. I have always admired her. I was curious about her life journey and was caught unaware that her voice and self discovery would awaken my comatose self to begin anew. I don’t want to be unconscious anymore Jane. I want to follow in your footsteps.
I think every woman should read this book, if they can open their mind to the fullness of a person without the political baggage.
I think it would be great to abridge the last chapter for every adolescent girl. I would recommend this book to men as well. I am of meager means. However, I have a wealthy friend who suffers the same slings and arrows of shadowing a man with insecurities of self, as I do. I pray the ending of this book is a beginning for my authentic self. When I read other’s reviews I realized they missed her conscious journey, her self awareness and her endeavor to correct and redirect. You don’t have to agree with her choices and I don’t believe for a minute that she is egocentric. Goodness, they miss the point.

Always knew who he was
Revisado: 08-28-22
When I was a teen 8 saw him on Merv or Mike in an interview wearing a pink shirt uncharastic for men at the time. The MC commented on the color and Burt said it was “puce”. As an artist, I felt I learned something, a new color. It was that candid interview which made me feel this man had real depth, charisma, and was somebody I would like to hang out with. I just did. Listening to him was a learning experience of life lessons. It wasn’t without a caveat. The audio was hard to hear as his voice is low and a bit raspy. There was what sounded like a rain stick periodically. The best part is that he didn’t act when he was reading for this role, his story. He snickered and spoke through tears often. It was real and he was really who I always thought he was…a Greta actor and a better man then most.

Convicted serial killer Benjamin Fisher has finally offered to lead San Bernardino detective Daniel Ellis to the isolated graves of his victims. One catch: he'll only do it if FBI profiler Reni Fisher, his estranged daughter, accompanies them. As hard as it is to exhume her traumatic childhood, Reni can’t say no. She still feels complicit in her father’s crimes.

Good easy listening and get it done audio
Revisado: 06-17-22
Captivating story to get things done to…
I have different genres I listen to on audio for different things. I am trying to downsize the amount of “stuff” I own and enjoyed the book so much that I just purchased “Tell me”. I also enjoy history novels., which require more work while listening.
I recommend this audio because the story and narration flow so well, you can accomplish things without having to rewind, The characters are described well enough there is no confusion between who the author is referring to in the story. This is well constructed and entertaining and requires nothing from the listener bit to just come along for the ride. If you want a book you don’t want to have to work for, one which keeps you a motivated listener…this is a good pick.

Historia
At the end of the last century, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was a booming coal-and-steel town filled with hardworking families striving for a piece of the nation's burgeoning industrial prosperity. In the mountains above Johnstown, an old earth dam had been hastily rebuilt to create a lake for an exclusive summer resort patronized by the tycoons of that same industrial prosperity, among them Andrew Carnegie, Henry Clay Frick, and Andrew Mellon.

Straight forward
Revisado: 06-14-22
This story first came to my attention through a documentary series entitled,”The men who built America”. It’s a sad story and the writer’s view is somewhat removed, but time can distance us. The details and names used are quite impressive.
The narration was very comfortable but there are many significant pauses which are so drawn out, one assumes the audible tape lost its connection.

Historia
In 1978, two corpses were discovered in the sea off Guatemala. Hooded, bound with ropes and weighted down with heavy engine parts, Chris Farmer and his girlfriend Peta Frampton were thrown from a yacht on which they had been crewing. This is the gripping account of how Chris's family painstakingly gathered evidence against the boat's Californian skipper, Silas Duane Boston, working alongside the FBI, Interpol, and police in the UK and the USA. Almost four decades later in 2015, there was a major breakthrough in the case when, using Facebook, Chris's sister Penny tracked Boston down.

If at once you don’t succeed….
Revisado: 08-21-21
This story is shows that life is risky and love last past a lifetime. it is great to get the perspective of the different victims. What is most amazing is even the children of Boston, though victims, transcended to hero’s. The tenacity of the families showed a great love not only for ones family, but in the case of the boys of Boston, a love for humanity.

Historia
Science is a force for good in the world—at least usually. But sometimes, when obsession gets the better of scientists, they twist a noble pursuit into something sinister. Under this spell, knowledge isn’t everything, it’s the only thing—no matter the cost. Bestselling author Sam Kean tells the true story of what happens when unfettered ambition pushes otherwise rational men and women to cross the line in the name of science, trampling ethical boundaries and often committing crimes in the process.

Revisado: 07-24-21
Though many of the case studies detailed I had heard of before, the author presented in a way which was fresh and nuanced. I will save this book and listen to parts of it again. In addition, the end of the book, suggesting future scientific crimes was fascinating and troubling. I am glad I purchased this audio.

Historia
For two thousand years, cadavers have been involved in science's boldest strides and weirdest undertakings. They've tested France's first guillotines, ridden the NASA Space Shuttle, been crucified in a Parisian laboratory to test the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin, and helped solve the mystery of TWA Flight 800. For every new surgical procedure, from heart transplants to gender reassignment surgery, cadavers have been there alongside surgeons, making history in their quiet way.

My daughter asked me to be in charge of donating her organs. At 61, and a donor since College, having been asked by her to proceed should something happen to her...I looked into it further. The information made me more concerned. I found this book helpful on sorting through questions. I like medical books. This one gives pause to our preconceived ideas on many subjects. It is also just plain interesting to find out what happens to cadavers.
