Historia
In the 25th century, humankind has spread throughout the galaxy, monitored by the watchful eye of the U.N. While divisions in race, religion, and class still exist, advances in technology have redefined life itself. Now, assuming one can afford the expensive procedure, a person's consciousness can be stored in a cortical stack at the base of the brain and easily downloaded into a new body (or "sleeve") making death nothing more than a minor blip on a screen.

Once I started, I couldn't stop, this book was far better than the TV series.

Historia
Through scare tactics and deliberate misinformation campaigns, anti-Muslim propagandists insist wrongly that shariah is a draconian and oppressive Islamic law that all Muslims must abide by. They circulate horror stories, encouraging Americans to fear the "takeover of shariah" law in America and even mounting "anti-shariah protests"...with zero evidence that shariah has taken over any part of our country. (That's because it hasn't.) It would be almost funny if it weren't so terrifyingly wrong - as puzzling as if Americans suddenly began protesting the Martian occupation of Earth.

The Gateway to combat prejudice
Revisado: 09-09-22
Brilliant book, it has reconfirmed what I saw in Islam little other half a decade ago, that it is, at its core, a tolerant and beautiful Religion. It brought to light the reasons for current situation of the Religion and Sharia, and the frustration of our current media's vilification of a Religion that has been targeted for hate for ages. If you want to know what True Islam is, this is the best start to such a journey.

Historia
What happens when authorities you venerate condone something you know is wrong? What does this mean about what you’ve been venerating? No issue brings this question into starker contrast than slavery. Every major religion and philosophy condoned or approved of it, but in modern times there is nothing seen as more evil. Americans confront this crisis of authority when they erect statues of Founding Fathers who slept with their slaves. And Muslims faced it when ISIS revived sex slavery, justifying it with verses from the Quran and the practice of Muhammad.

Brilliantly written, sheds light on Slavery in a 'general' format as well as that within Islam. Very much worth a listen if you're into the social sciences.

Brilliant
Revisado: 02-08-20
I have come to enjoy the Yamada series thus far and when I dove into this book it took my imagination for a joy ride! It's rare I feel things for characters in a book, but the writing and the narrator did a damn good job at pulling me in. I can't wait to start the next book.
