Historia
Only the extraordinary belong in the kingdom of Ilya—the exceptional, the empowered, the Elites. The powers these Elites have possessed for decades were graciously gifted to them by the Plague, though not all were fortunate enough to both survive the sickness and reap the reward. Those born Ordinary are just that—ordinary. And when the king decreed that all Ordinaries be banished to preserve his Elite society, lacking an ability suddenly became a crime—making Paedyn Gray a felon by fate and a thief by necessity.

Seductively dark and irresistibly enchanting, the Beastly Trilogy is now available in one delectable omnibus! The three books in the omnibus are: Depravity, Deceit, and Devastation. Benella is concerned with two things: avoiding the two village boys who torment her, and scrounging for food to help feed her family. Unfortunately, the best wild fruit and vegetables are near the walls of the estate, a dark misty place inhabited by an unforgiving beast.

Pleasantly Surprised. I don't Usually Like Reimagi
Revisado: 08-30-23
I am not a critic. I don't put tons of thought into my reviews. Very basic description whether i enjoyed it or not.
BUT I do listen and read a LOT of books. 2 credits a month aren't enough, so I've been trying to find good fantasy genre books in the free catalog.
I don't typically like reimagined Fairy Tails. This was a nice "grown up" version of Beauty and the Beast, although it was nothing like BATB as we know it, except for a curse and a man turned into a beast. I'm 40 yo and I still love the young adult fantasy (thanks Twilight, Divergent, The Host, and Hunger Games) but SO OFTEN they're full of whiney, agsty teenagers, super immature yet in very adult situations. Headaches from the eye rolling. Then I try the "adult fantasy" and all I'm reading is a lot of points, constant sex, sex that is just omg mind blowing. Not reality girl, sorry! This book had a few realistic sex scenes that didn't drag on and on. There were times that the female MC was too nice and accepting to be real. but the characters were easy to connect with in all 3 books. I found myself listening to all 3 books without fast forwarding. I gave all 5 stars because in my humble opinion, they are deserved. The narrator was great. She didn't sound whiney, nor did she sound too old for the characters.

MC is SO unlikable.
Revisado: 07-03-23
This is my opinion, and I am just one.
I'm on Chapter 28. The ENTIRE book so far has been Avalons POV, and I feel like I was listening not to the mature leader he was in the last few books, but to a middle school girl. If I hear one more time about the shorts Amilya is wearing, I'll scream. I wouldn't follow this boy anywhere except a school dance. It was like the last few books...female MC constantly brought up her loooong, dark, curly hair. YEEES!! We KNOW!
The narrator doesn't have a bad voice, but Amiliya, a pretty, mature, intelligent 16 yr old girl, sounds like an old crone with an English accent! It's so cringey!! I wish they'd have had 2 narrators. Male and female. He DOES sound like a woman, but a very old lady.
It seems like around chapter 30, something else happens, not just Avelon talking about his FEELINGS.

For weeks, he stood by my side, twisting his words into pretty half-truths. He enraptured me with his smooth temptation, leaving no corner of my being untouched. He consumed my mind and my body, then finally claimed my heart for himself. But Caelum’s true identity is terrifying enough to bring me to my knees. Then, I discovered the truth of who he is. Caldris is whispered in the Nothrek wind. The legend we only speak of with hushed words, in shuttered rooms, for fear of drawing his wrath once again.

Unfortunately Very Negative Review Below. 😕
Revisado: 05-16-23
If what you're looking for a book that is absolutely nothing but just constant sex, doing it, talking about it, thinking about it, making innuendos about it OR doing it while talking and thinking about it, look no further, this is the book for YOU. Not sexy, seductive, WOW sex with a dominant male fairy. Now THAT train I will board. This can be described as side of your top lip curling up (not your toes), rough, degrading, tasteless, embarrassing, pointless, rapey, creeper, stalker vibe all over this one.
The female MC was just okay in the beginning. At one point in the last 1/3 of the book she turned around and stabbed a man (he doesn't die, just feels pain) and when asked why in the flippin world she just turned around and shoved a knife into the belly of a member of her party out of the blue... her answer was so stupid and childish... she did that cause she wanted to. She was mad. I have never rooted so hard for the main characters to walk briskly off a cliff. They'd be having sex of course, because that's all they do, so rather, I wanted them to ROLL rapidly off a cliff. Sad spoiler...they didn't roll off a cliff and plumet to their deaths.
I like the fantasy genre. I like to hear stories about adults and world building, especially Fairy world building and details with likable, strong (or weak, I dont care) characters you get to know... This one sounded perfect. But it's pointless unless you're into straight SMUT with an overall creepy, stalker, rapey vibe. No depth. Just...weird, incessant, tssteless, unnecessary, meaningless sex and the uses of the naughty words beginning with an F, C, and P. Oh deeaar...And not like sexy talk. There was nothing sexy about it. And...
They didn't roll off a cliff.
I can not honestly tell you what the main idea or plot of the story was. I can't really say where they were, just traveling from A to B on horses, and it was winter. They had to kidnap humans that were, by no choice of their own, fairy marked. If a human had said mark, they're fated to be with a fairy mate and evidently turn into jelous, possessive creepers that likely run around pointing at their mate, stomping their feet and screaming in people's faces, MINE! MIIIINE!
Still haven't rolled off that cliff.
The male MC "lies" about who he is, girl falls in love, finds out who and what he is, she's angry, contimplating murdering him on several occasions, but instead has sex with him cause hey...that'll show him! The MCs are literally bleeding, dying, freezing, stinking. their loved ones brutally killed, it's freezing on this perilous journey to...somewhere, I still don't really know, MC female almost drowns, one of MCs have stab wounds, both suffering from PTSD from childhood, others are waiting on them to arrive...SOMEwhere I believe, but these 2 are stupidly oblivious to it all. People are watching? Perfect, now they can see me X my mate and know they can't have him/her. Ha Ha on you! Mine! (Eye roll and shakey cringey goosebumps).
Where, in whatever place or realm they ate, are all the CLIFFS! We just need one cliff!
One evening, I was unhappily trying to just get through this book and had to run to help my son. I was going to pause it, but I let it continue. I figured at least by the time I come back, this gross, cringe worthy sex will be done! About 10 minutes later, I went back to my room and the scene was blessedly over, but wth?! A new one had started! Noooo! I fast forwarded through much of this book just to get through it, and truly, I never once got lost or off track. It was just always right where I left it. At the next sex scene. (sad sigh). I could've been watching YouTube.
I am not a professional, and I'm definitely not an author. I couldn't even help my daughter think up something interesting to write for her MS English class! So please take this negative review with everyone else's with the many positive ones. I can't imagine anyone who reads (or listens) to fantasy or any genre appreciating this book unless they like listening to someone explaining in meaningless detail about their explosive sexual experiences and how it feels...over...and over..and over... But again, what do I know? My opinion is just my own, and my humble opinion is this (after my long review) I don't know this author and if all her books are written this way. I don't think it belongs in the Fantasy genre. Is there an Erotica genre? If so it belongs there. It can't be called a fantasy book just because the people having sexual experiences happen to be fairies. I don't even know if they were in a Fairy land/realm.
2 things if you choose to go on and read this,
Number 1, there are NO CLIFFS in this land for these two fools to roll off of.
Number 2, Headphones people! This book is all about explicit sex and it's pretty much constant, so wear headphones or keep volume down because SUDDENLY the author throws one of those 3 words above out and people are going crazy with each other. Don't plug into Google Home or Alexa with THIS book!
Thanks everyone! I'm off to find my next book!

Revenge is wicked - but I’m worse. As a kid, Margo crushed our dreams to dust. We were best friends until she tore our families apart with one confession. Now that she’s back as the new girl in school, she doesn’t seem to suspect the war that’s coming - or the anger I’ve been harboring. She’s the prey, and I’m her perfect predator. But suddenly there’s a new game to play, and the stakes are even higher. Betrayal. Lies. A devastating cover up. The secrets locked in Margo’s head are enough to destroy us.

Worst Book I've Ever Read! Read below. UUGH!!
Revisado: 05-01-23
I HAVE to give the book a STAR?! Well I've made it to Chapter 8, and I'm looking for the link to return this stupid, ridiculous book and get something that won't make me mourn for the last hour and something I wasted.
That I know of, I have no "triggers". Bullying is definitely not one of them. Yes, it says it's a "bullying " kind of book. This group of 17 yr old boys at a private school lord over everyone, bullying? the teenage girls. And they say how they hate it, but yet are super turned on. These are 17 yr old high schoolers surrounded by adults and teachers? No they are Lord of the f'ing Flies!
Soooo... if you're into forced sexual, humiliating, painful, brutal touches from arrogant high school boys to seemingly happily half raped high school girls, you'll love this book. The male MC says how he hates girl, but has this major hard** so he pushes small framed girl against counter? and kisses her and attacks her with his fingers. Oooo is female MC pissed! How dare he? So she obviously punches his nose, screams, runs, goes to police, trusted adult. Wait...no she doesn't! She's angry at how into it she is. No means yes to girls and No means Game on to boys. Yuck! Horrific characters, horrible friendships between girls, rapey vibes in every other paragraph. I've never met a teeanage girl that acts like these girls.
I do have to add that I did listen 4 hours off and on just because I was busy planting flowers. I did read other reviews that says the book gets better. IDK. All this forced sexual behavior against teenager girls, even if said girls are idiots, is just too much. I bought another book and may return to this when I am out of credits some time.

I'm not a prude. I can handle some crazy sex even if I DO roll my eyes a lot on how they just fit together like a puzzle and how mind blowing he almost passed out... Some of the other books I fast forwarded a lot just because...come ON, they do nothing but walk around all manly and have lots of sex.
This one wasn't like that. There was more to it than constant I see you so I have to screw you. Unless I missed something, the end surprised me at who the daughter was. Cool.

Glad I listened!
Revisado: 04-21-23
I had to speed up the narrator quite a bit. It was a nice little story. Good listen. One really funny, but cringey thing I have to mention. The MC was this sweet, chaste, widow back in the... I'm assuming 40s or 50s. Definitely a lady, like they were back then. She didn't swear. Not at all. But one of the sex scenes I had to speed through cause it was like, yeah yeah I know how wonderful and unreal it is. I don't need to hear AGAIN, the author chose to use the word, p***y and c**k. I listen to a lot of books that use those words frequently and it doesn't even make me blink. But it was SO FORCED and didn't go with this book or this MC at ALL. Like take a pure white wall and then throwing black paint on it. I just thought it was like the author felt like she had to throw those 2 words in for some reason. Other than those nails on a chalkboard moments, the book WAS good.

I've read many fantasy books, but none quite like this. The characters are "real" in this book. Many books I've read the teenagers are irritatingly annoying or WAY too old.
I didn't read any MATURE themes as they said. It was a PG book I would say.
