If you are under 35, have never read a book or listened to a podcast about holistic healing and food being medicine then this book has some good information for you. This book is definitely NOT for women over 35 because it completely leaves out how our bodies work in perimenopause / menopause and things are very different for women at this stage of their lives and lasts much longer than the phase this author addresses. This book seems to basically be a recap of some things the author has learned from listening to podcasts. She seems like a lovely person. Love her attitude and how she inspires people. With a title like, BioHack Like A Woman, I feel she has left out A LOT of important information. Hope she puts out a revised edition someday.

Missing several important points and makes some really terrible recommendations. For example:
In their list of fats, they list mayonnaise as a fat. Mayonnaise often has oxidated oil, glucose from sugar and protein from eggs. In their list of low glycemic fruits, they include mango, but never speak of avocado. They mention that in studies women have been found to have menstruation dysregulation, but never mention the reason and how to fix that. They say that MCT can cause an upset stomach, but there’s no information about why and how to build your amount slowly overtime so that you can tolerate therapeutic amounts. I could go on and on there are so many holes in this information. Makes me feel sad that people who are dealing with epilepsy are going to go to this book for education. After reading this book, please look further to get more educated. Please understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy fats that cause a long list of problems and get a better list of low glycemic fruits and vegetables for starters. So much more could be said here…

The author repeats himself over and over and over and over again through basically all the chapters...

This book is extremely supportive for those who are needing something to help them have a home practice and have very little time to do it. The Author, Crystal is obviously passionate about helping people. She has organized these mini practices in a way that makes it very accessible for any and everyone. Also, I could listen to her all day, her voice is like velvet.

Would have liked more guidance in the beginning of the book around important things to know when you start low carb. Example would be to take extra minerals / electrolytes and pink salt.
I'm guessing that more women are going to read this book than men (just a guess) Would have been nice if it was more inclusive for women and their needs when going low carb high fat. This book is great although a bit condescending towards women and their more sensitive systems in some ways...

Have listened to this book twice and will likely listen again. Fascinating story and mind opening content. Michael Pollan is lovely to listen to, I wish he would narrate all the books :)

This book rambles on and on without giving you much solid information at all. It’s more about this person’s specific experience, as if you are reading his personal journal. Although I am happy for him and his personal success I am not at all impressed with his knowledge. I also found the narrative style to be extremely annoying to listen to.
