Historia
Viktor Orlov had a longstanding appointment with death. Once Russia’s richest man, he now resides in splendid exile in London, where he has waged a tireless crusade against the authoritarian kleptocrats who have seized control of the Kremlin. His mansion in Chelsea’s exclusive Cheyne Walk is one of the most heavily protected private dwellings in London. Yet somehow, on a rainy summer evening, in the midst of a global pandemic, Russia’s vengeful president finally manages to cross Orlov’s name off his kill list.

Why o why
Revisado: 12-18-21
Silva is a great story teller and this would have been a great story except for the distraction of his political bias.
The best comment I read, he should not have let his wife write the book.

Reason to listen
Revisado: 11-30-18
I so loved Lonesome Dove, I read the prequals as soon as the came out. After reading the books, I was a little disappointed. But after I listened, it gave me a whole new insight. Will is a great narrator. With only a few exceptions, my favorite reads have been enhanced by listening.

What a great first novel. It didn’t need my favorite narrator but that was just icing on the cake. And how it parallels so many things that are going on today. Thank you for a wonderful book and I look forward to your next.

Historia
Kennedy - a private airport security contractor - knows more about airports than the head of the TSA, and he feels more comfortable in his British Airways Club World flatbed seat than in his own home. Haunted by the memory of his sister's death on 9/11, Kennedy takes his job and the protection of the American people very seriously. So when he's kidnapped and recruited into a CIA ghost operation known as Red Carpet, he jumps at the opportunity to become a civilian asset working with a team of some of the CIA's best counterterrorism analysts and spec ops soldiers.

What an amazing story. My son recommended the book. I could not put it aside. I purchased book one on Tuesday evening and I finished book two on Thursday afternoon and can not wait until the release of the next in the series. This is not my normal genre but what a great find. New author, new narrator and genre, what can be better than that.
