fun and exciting twist on Beauty and the Beast
Revisado: 01-22-24
I didn't think I would like this story as much as I did, after all it says that the book is a twist on beauty and the beast so I figured I would already know where the story was gonna go. This book surprised me and I was very excited each time I got to listen to it. I definitely recommend it.

Historia
Afterlife...just some gothic nightclub where gossip is fuelled by the presence of a rich and unearthly, handsome family or afterlife...the strange place where time seems to stand still and guests feel the presence of something more powerful held within the confines of the VIP. Keira is new to this small, cold town and is running from a past that seems to feast on her darkest memories. She finds living with her sister away from English soil to be just the ticket to the new life she is trying desperately to find.

The next 2 are full of domestic violence
Revisado: 11-07-22
I love the potential this storyline, but I have never wished so hard for a blossoming love to die! I was literally yelling at the main character to pick a different man, literally anyone else, for the last 2 books worth of this story. I say it should have a trigger warning because it reminds me of every abusive relationship I have ever had. This is the kind of domestic violence that people dont realize is dv because there are no visible wounds but the emotional ones are just as bad. The man is constantly yelling at her, breaking things, and turning every bad thing he does around to make her feel like it was her fault. He controls her, not letting her go where she wants or work as much as she wants and fights with her when she wants to go see friends. She walks on eggshells around him and is afraid to talk about her problems or wants and needs cause she is afraid he will get mad at her and her exact words are, "fly into a rage and break things". He even goes so far as to make changes to her body without her permission because he thinks she belongs to him, and it's his right to do whatever he wants to her. She continues to forgive him because he fixes what he breaks and explains everything away, and they have great makeup sex. This book was a huge trigger for me, and the only reason I continued to the next book is in hopes she wakes up and moves on but also because I love the potential for the storyline. It's a good book. I just can't stand the guy in the book.

Historia
For the past 10 years I’ve been a victim. A victim to my pack. A victim to my true mate, who rejected me in the most brutal of ways. And a victim to Shadow Beast, who used me for his own gains. Or did he? The beast of mystery never reveals his whole hand, but one thing is for sure...in my time with him, I've changed. Now I will no longer walk the path dictated by the powerful men in my life. Never again will I let my strength be taken from me. I must evolve or die. And we all know, with a choice like that, there’s really only one answer.

Historia
Jo Strauss is committed to two things in her life - her family and her life as an acrobat/high-wire performer; she takes both very seriously. Her life is orderly, in control, and she is finally settling down in one place so she can spend more time with her parents instead of moving all over the world every few weeks. To celebrate her and her younger sister Star's one year anniversary away from the circus they have grown up with, they meet River Knight, their childhood friend and sister of the heart, for a vacation in the mountains of North Carolina.

Revisado: 11-18-20
Yes the book was great, I really enjoyed the story but I'm can we talk about Samantha Cook for a second? My god I love that woman's voice! I would %100 marry that woman just so I could listen to her when she speaks! She is so amazing at her job and I love the voices she uses for different characters or different things happening in the story, she sounds excited when she is supposed to and scared when she should... My god I swear every time I'm looking for a new series I just look for her name and go with whatever it is she is reading!
