Historia
A dance club full of bodies. Cause of death - a mystery. The lone survivor - a man, raving like a lunatic, wearing only a deerstalker hat. Now, the man who calls himself Sherman Holmes is being studied like a lab rat by a top-secret government agency. How is it he can be barely clinging to reality one minute - yet be a seeming genius the next? Within his brain might just be the greatest scientific breakthrough of the millennium, if anyone can figure out how to access it. Enter the agent code named Watson.

Another Great Story
Revisado: 06-15-23
Drew Hayes has done it again. This was an enjoyable story from start to finish. The characters were likable, and the dynamic between Holmes and Watson felt natural and comedic. I would recommand this book.

Historia
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.

Fun in the beginning
Revisado: 08-15-20
There is very fun and interesting towards the beginning. The 2nd half slows down a great deal, which made it a little difficult to finish but I still love the story over all

Great read
Revisado: 06-29-20
This book was a fun and exciting read. I love the dynamic relationship between the protagonists. I found some of the action during the climax was a bit hard to follow, but it wasn't TOO difficult to keep up. The narration done by the author was alright, I had to slow it down a little to understand him, but that's probably more the fault of my American ears. Not sure if the sequel is in the works, but there definitely should be one!

Historia
In the opening pages of Jamie Ford's stunning debut, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, Henry Lee comes upon a crowd gathered outside the Panama Hotel, once the gateway to Seattle's Japantown. It has been boarded up for decades, but now the new owner has made an incredible discovery: the belongings of Japanese families, left when they were rounded up and sent to internment camps during World War II. As Henry looks on, the owner opens a Japanese parasol.

Historia
Call Me by Your Name first swept across the world in 2007. It is the story of a sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between an adolescent boy and a summer guest at his parents' cliffside mansion on the Italian Riviera. During the restless summer weeks, unrelenting but buried currents of obsession, fascination, and desire intensify their passion as they test the charged ground between them and verge toward the one thing both already fear they may never truly find again: total intimacy.

I really wanted to like this book!
Revisado: 11-25-19
I heard such good things about the movie, that I wanted to read the book for myself. When I started listening, I found that the main protagonist, Elio was miserable and unlikable. Compound that with the book being a definite "slow burn", it made it hard to finish. Throughout the story Elio was consistently passive aggressive, selfish, manipulative, jealous, and creepy. He mopes around for the majority of the book and comes across as very pretentious. Which made his lengthy inner thoughts hard to tolerate. He was honestly the worst. The narration was very good, but unfortunately I did not enjoy the story at all

The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name.

Loved it, I was a bit surprised by the genre shift
Revisado: 03-02-18
It was a great book! Without spoiling anything I was shocked at the addition of another genre halfway through the book. It threw me off aa bit at first but I quickly adjusted to it.
