Historia
The sequel to the number one Audible Best Seller Earthcore, Mount Fitz Roy continues the tale of Patrick O’Doyle and Bertha Lybrand, who were part of the horror show that occurred far below the mountains of Utah. They learn that the "mother of all motherlodes” discovered there was not unique, that there is another deposit similar to it three miles beneath the towering peak of Cerro Chaltén on the disputed border between Chile and Argentina. O'Doyle, a middle-aged former member of a disgraced black-ops unit, gets his aging team back together to go after this fortune.

Hot garbage. Definitely Sigler's worst yet.
Revisado: 09-01-21
I've been a Sigler fan for years and I think I'm done.
Easily twice as long as it needed to be. Repetitive. Predictable. Every character is unlikable. The Ending sucked. Way too much time is spent on the character's internal dialogue, most of which is irrelevant to character development or plot. Felt like Sigler was trying to check all of the boxes of our culture and shoehorn as much politically correct ideology in it as he could to increase appeal. Definitely not worth 29+ life hours to read.
Porter does as well as he could with what he was given. I kinda felt bad for him the way I sometimes feel bad when I watch movies with great actors who signed on with horrible scripts.

Historia
It's been three long years since Deadbreak. That's what everyone's calling it - the day the dead rose. Every day since then, Jeremiah Reid has had one goal: to make his way back to his daughter. With his four-legged companion, Joe, Jeremiah has to travel a lawless wasteland teeming with zombies, bandits, and worse, like people who put anchovies on pizza (you know who you are). It's a new world out there, and no one is safe. People are weary, cities are in ruin, supplies are scarce, and brains are on the menu.

good story despite a few overused zombie tropes
Revisado: 01-22-21
Decent action horror survival tale, likable characters, interesting world. The climax sequence felt like it was out of left field and a little forced but, the end result was good. Ready for a sequel.

classic book, narration needs updated
Revisado: 12-11-20
I love this book and the narrator is decent but the singing is awful. there are a lot of songs in the book and I wish he would just read the words instead of try to sing them. i have to skip them every time i read this and LotR.

one beef
Revisado: 05-03-17
This is an all time favorite of mine. My only beef is with the performance of the reader. Inglis actually sings the many songs in the book. It would be MUCH better if he would have just read them. E:ery time he started singing, it would draw out an explitive from me and I'd start mashing the skip forward button as quickly as I could get to it. I would then go read the songs instead of listening to it. The singing really is unbearable.
Other than that, it's fantastic and Inglis does a great job.

Short Course in Beer

Historia
Straightforward and opinionated, Short Course in Beer is designed to turn the novice beer lover into an expert imbiber and the casual drinker into an enthusiast. Readers will come to understand the beauty of beer and the sources of its flavor, as well as learn which beers are worth our time and which are not. With tongue in cheek, the author examines beer's historical connections to the Crusades, the Hundred Years' War, and modern-day soccer riots. He talks frankly (and joyfully) about the effects of alcohol on the body and brain, he defends beer from its enemies, and ushers it out of the frat house and into the dining room.

Kinda hard to listen to
Revisado: 03-31-16
This book has a lot of good information and facts about beer, which is why I like it and bought it in the first place. The problem is, you have to sift and skip through a lot of opinion, preference, bias, and personal tastes of the author, who is self aware and admits that he is a snarky beer snob.
If beer snobs annoy you, you will hate this book. If you can look past it, there is a lot of good information and history here.
I particularly hated the; how to taste beer, and food pairing sections. That's all opinion and preference. There are even food recipes in it which felt very out of place in a book about beer.
Some of the book is repetitive. At points I thought my app messed up and I was listening to parts I had already read, but it was just the author rewriting what he already wrote. And he does add snarky comments throughout the entire book, even the good parts.
I like the voice acting. I like the factual parts in the book, and the history of beer details were very interesting.
I recommend reading this if you love beer, but with some serious reservations.
