Historia
How does a man - in the face of adversity and loss - drive forward powerful actions that carve the future for himself, his family, and his country? Jacob Monroe lives during the infant stages of our Republic. Without the benefit of hindsight to see the power of his actions and the repercussions of his journey ahead, he starts out as an innocent bystander. He hopes to be a part of something bigger than even his own expansive imaginings. As he forges his way through twists and turns, he follows the path set up by our founding fathers.

Monroe Legacy leaves much to be desired.

Too much sentiment and not enough substance. They were part of the Culper Ring but you never knew what they did. Major snooze fest. I’m sorry I wasted credits on the other two books.

Historia
In To Try Men's Souls, Newt Gingrich and William R. Forstchen cast a new light on the year 1776 . Valley Forge picks up the narrative a year after Washington’s triumphant surprise attack on Trenton, and much has changed since then. It’s the winter of 1777, and Washington’s battered, demoralized army retreats from Philadelphia.

Should be required reading in schools.
Revisado: 07-26-19
I absolutely loved this book. I wish it could be required reading or listening to students in high school. It would put them right in the middle of what happened during that time and perhaps help them understand what made this country great. Instead if destroying paintings of Washington, they would come to understand just how great this man was. The character of Vin Steuben was portrayed so well, I was very entertained and want to learn more about him. Thanks Newt and William. Currently finishing Yorktown.
