Love, love, LOVE this book and everything about it!
Revisado: 09-27-19
I found this book after listening to Laura Lynne’s second book Signs: The Secret Language of the Universe, which I also loved! Both of these books were so special to me, I did not want them to end. If you have ever lost a loved one or have had one of those moments that you felt could only be sent to you, hand-picked by the Universe, both of these books are for you. I cannot sing my praises enough. On top of it all, Laura Lynne is an incredible narrator, speaking with such a sensitive, intelligent eloquence, straight from the heart. You won’t regret this purchase.

I was so captivated by Ms. Senderson’s Reluctant Messenger that I listened to it three times in a row, so as not to miss a single moment. She bravely takes us along on her accidental journey of enlightenment, and oh, what a journey it is. Her experiences are humbling, yet synergistic and helping the reader to understand how connected we really are. I thank her for sharing her story with the world, adding yet another facet to mine.

Native shamanic traditions tell us that there are cords, strands, threads, and filaments of energy that flow to and through us, connecting us to everyone and everything in the universe. Some energy strands make us feel vibrant and alive. Others deplete and weaken us. Most of us are unaware of these energy strands, but they are extremely powerful forces that surround us every day.

Huge fan of this book and Denise Linn!
Revisado: 09-02-18
I thoroughly enjoyed Energy Strands by Denise Linn. Not only did I find the content to be intriguing, but I was also entertained and inspired by the material. There is something very special about having Denise as the narrator, too. She has a very authentic delivery that I feel allows her to connect with the listener on a very personal level. I am sure I will end up listening to this book many times over and may even purchase the printed copy to serve as a handbook for reference. I hope you enjoy it as I have!

Historia
Two men, each handsome and unusually adept at his chosen work, embodied an element of the great dynamic that characterized America’s rush toward the twentieth century. The architect was Daniel Hudson Burnham, the fair’s brilliant director of works and the builder of many of the country’s most important structures, including the Flatiron Building in New York and Union Station in Washington, D.C. The murderer was Henry H. Holmes, a young doctor who, in a malign parody of the White City, built his “World’s Fair Hotel” just west of the fairgrounds.

Not nearly as enthralling as I had hoped
Revisado: 09-11-17
Devil in the White City was not an enjoyable Audible book for me. While I commend Mr. Larson on his seemingly tireless research and dedication to authenticity, it was a dreadful listen. To me it sounded like Kevin Spacey reading a textbook, but without the verve. No offense intended toward the narrator, but he sounded disingenuous and disconnected. The story was very difficult for me to follow, and I basically finished it out of spite and morbid curiosity. Larson jumps from character to character, as he obviously needed to in doing an historical account, but in listening to it, I found it very difficult to follow and even more difficult to become mentally and emotionally involved. Out of the 200+ chapters, the last two were the most captivating.
Being a resident of a Chicago suburb, I did find some details interesting to learn, and I enjoyed being taken to a time that was pivotal to our history, so all was not lost.
