Yet another awesome story with who knows how much of the ending just cut off, and random jumps back in the story that make you feel like maybe you’re going crazy or developing precognition. Seriously, I can’t listen to any more of the stories from this podcast. It’s a shame but I can’t be left hanging every other story.

The stories presented in this podcast are fantastic, original and well told. The sound guy, however, needs to be fired. Just about every single episode the narration skips back 10-60 seconds, making you question your auditory nerves. On top of that, every now and then the story just ends, clearly and obviously cut off before the actual end of the story. That end is not attached anywhere else, you just never get to hear the end of that story. So fire the sound guy and this’ll be a 5 star podcast.

I highly enjoy the concept and layout of this series. John Lee does his trademark excellent performance. However, the production quality is shockingly low. Not in the sense than you can hear pages turning or breathing on the part of the narrator, but that there is literally zero pause between different sections of a chapter. One second you are listing to one character from one story line, and the very next second a different character in a different story line in a different section of the galaxy is talking as if they never stopped from their previous section. I found myself skipping back frequently, sometimes a minute or four, because I realized the character I thought was speaking was actually someone else and in my confusion I had missed a chunk of the story. I feel most people listen to audio books while engaging in less mentally demanding activities (driving, cleaning, etc.), but this book almost requires you to sit and stare at a wall while listening so you don’t miss anything. I will continue to purchase and listen to this series, I just hope the producer sees this and fixes the flaw for future books.
