Historia
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

Really Good Story
Revisado: 05-05-24
Intriguing story. Kept me guessing and engaged. I didn't need the podcast chapter "music" or the weird "voice" in the main characters head... but I enjoyed this story alot.

Good Story but TERRIBLE narrative
Revisado: 02-14-23
Believe all the reviews that say this narration is terrible. Sounded like Juno from Beetlejuice was reading. The characters all sounded like they were senior citizens and from an old Victorian novel. Not up mention the accent of the dude George. Where was he from? Russia Australia? Boston?
The terrible narrative set aside, I enjoyed the story. Probably not her best, but it was good enough for me to finish in a few days.
Please, I beg of you publisher, get someone else to read this story. I bet that will change the reviews.

Not my favorite Colleen Hoover book
Revisado: 12-04-22
First problem... age of the characters... too young. Second problem... the woman narrating...omg creepy creepy creepy voice. Especially when she talked about intimate details. After many chapters, I changed the speed to 1.25 so she read a little faster, that really helped.
I always feel like Colleen Hoovers books read like she thinks the audience is a little dumb. But usually the content is so good I can overlook that. This book did not get really really good until the 4th or 5th November 9. I just found myself annoyed.... the last few chapters were my favorite.
The male narrator was good and if he would have narrated the whole book I may have felt differently.
Not every author can hit a homerun...I would say this is like a hitting a double. .. good enough to finish, not good enough to recommend.

DId I really like it? Was it worth the credit?
Revisado: 06-08-22
Well, I listened to this pretty quickly and finished it, but was it good? I think so....maybe...yes...no......
I felt like the plot was over explained too often....did the author think we couldn't figure it out ourselves?
The sexy stuff was steamy and the disturbing stuff was very disturbing...
So yeah...i finished it and i think it was worth the credit... or was i swindled?
the way jeremy and low met...really...omg kinda dumb.

Love Dolly with all my heart, but the story was all fluff. I listened to the entire book but found the storyline predictable and the ending so-so. Save your credits....

Long but very Good
Revisado: 01-24-22
I listened to Grapes of Wrath and enjoyed it so much I decided to try this as well after someone recommended it. I struggle with very long winded authors and this one can definitely seem neverending. The upside is it is a wonderful story and the characters are deep. If you are discovering classics, this is recommended. I enjoyed almost every minute.
Caution, do not watch the movie. Except for a riveting performance by James Dean, there are many differences between the book and film. The film doesn't hold a candle.

Loved It!!!! Emotional Story with Heart
Revisado: 06-19-21
I was so excited when this book became available. Kristin Hannah is one of my favorite authors. This did not disappoint. I listened to it almost nonstop.
I was concerned about the narrative because I usually love Julia Whelans narration. I actually returned one KH because I couldn't get past the narrator...however, Susan Ericksen did a beautiful job and now I will start looking foe books narrated by her too.
I loved the Four Winds but it was a little dark especially the ending. This story was definitely more uplifting even though the context was often heavy with emotion. The family love throughout kept me warm and interested.
I won't give anything away and this book is NOT a spellbinder...just know it ends with a warm hug.

I loved it...not every minute but most of it
Revisado: 04-07-21
I loved this listen. The story was not a cliche and there were a few twists. If I had one issue it would be that a few of Vanessas parts of the story line dragged on. I really was most interested in Ninas story.
I enjoyed every minute of Julia's narration, but the other narrators got on my nerves a few times. I am now picking my books by narrators as much as authors.
