Historia
In the frigid pre-dawn hours, in a distressed Midwestern city, hundreds of desperate unemployed folks are lined up for a spot at a job fair. Without warning, a lone driver plows through the crowd in a stolen Mercedes, running over the innocent, backing up, and charging again. Eight people are killed; fifteen are wounded. The killer escapes. Mr. Mercedes is a war between good and evil, from the master of suspense whose insight into the mind of this obsessed, insane killer is chilling and unforgettable.

I loved this book!
Revisado: 01-01-24
I hadn’t read a Steven King in awhile, and I loved his take on a classic detective story starting with an absolutely bonkers crime. Performance is great and I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

Historia
New York Times bestselling author Peter Swanson pens a spectacularly spine-chilling novella in which an American art student in London is invited to join a classmate for the holidays at Starvewood Hall, her family’s Cotswold manor house. But behind the holly and pine boughs, secrets are about to unravel, revealing this seemingly charming English village’s grim history.

Could be an instant classic, but what was up with the page turning???
Revisado: 01-01-24
The story is great right from the beginning and I loved the Christmas in the English countryside mystery vibe overall, but the page turning was so distracting! Was that meant to add authenticity to the diary read? I thought I was hearing things at first, and I got over it, but took away from what was otherwise an excellent performance. Short, sweet, and scary, would be great for a plane ride or train trip over the holidays.

Historia
One bitterly cold February night at the remote MacKinnon Hotel, Remie Yorke begins her last shift at the front desk as the snow begins to fall. She has booked a one-way flight for the next day—and she's never coming back to Scotland. Or so she thinks. As the storm quickly invades the surrounding Highlands, the roads become impassable and the phone lines fall dead. When the icy temperatures plummet further, an injured man stumbles into the hotel lobby from the blizzard. Police Constable Don Gaines has been in a car accident on the mountain road, and Remie welcomes him to safety.

Great winter read
Revisado: 01-01-24
I enjoyed listening to this winter mystery over holiday break. Some fun twists and turns to keep it interesting, although I felt like at times the author put too many ideas into one novel. Performance was excellent and the actor nailed the accents.
