Historia
Carter Westlake is on the brink of being Hollywood gold. Cast as the lead in a highly-anticipated sci-fi trilogy, he’s primed to be the next A-list action hero: all-American, hot as hell, and straight. The problem is, Carter can only check off two of those boxes. But that’s okay—his bisexuality can remain a secret until these movies are behind him. Childhood educator Noah Jones has a plan. Work as a nanny for six months, make some cash, and move to the UK to teach. He doesn’t expect his boss to be a Hollywood star. And he certainly isn’t prepared to fall for the guy.

Great narration
Revisado: 07-21-24
This is a perfectly fine romance, but predictable and it felt like something I have read before. I guess I was expecting more from the story, since that is what I usually get from this author. But it was okay, and I may listen to it again someday.
The narration was really good.

Historia
David Lauriston is struggling to build his reputation in Edinburgh's privileged legal world. His humble origins are enough of a hurdle, never mind his recent decision to defend a group accused of treason, prompting speculation that he may harbour radical sympathies. David's personal life is no more successful. Tormented by his forbidden desires for other men, David tries to live a celibate existence. But then into David's repressed and orderly world bursts Lord Murdo Balfour. Cynical, hedonistic, and utterly unapologetic, Murdo could not be less like David.

I love this story so much and the narrator makes it even better. David and Murdo are really brought to life in this. It is a book I come back to again and again.

Good, but...
Revisado: 01-11-22
I liked most of the story, but found Pike's back and forth immature. Andrew Eiden did a great job narrating. I wasn't fond of the female narrator. I could tolerate her voice for Jordan, but her voices for Pike and Cole were so incredibly awful. It made them sound 5 years old. I ended up reading the final chapters on my Kindle to avoid it.

Historia
The first time I meet Rickie, I don’t know what to make of him. The second time we meet, he doesn’t remember the six hours we spent together. Or standing me up afterward. I’m not the same, either. I’ve got secrets. I’ve told lies. Bad boys aren’t my type, anyway. Even the ones with troubled gray eyes. But now we’re roommates. Cue the awkward moments in the hallway when he’s wearing only a towel and a smile. He’s determined to win me over, and his talented hands weaken my resolve.

Wonderful story
Revisado: 09-01-21
I loved Waylaid so much. It was steamy, heartbreaking and just exciting to read. It was awesome to go back to Vermont and thursday dinners at the Shipley's. Now I wish I could move in with Daphne and the others on Spruce Street in Burlington.
Zachary Webber did an awesome job and brought the story to life. The transition to the female narrator was rough. It sounded robotic at first, but I don't know if that was because of her voice or something with the recording. It did get better as the book went on, but I was still longing for chapters from Rickie's POV, so I cold hear Zachary Webber read instead.

Gave up
Revisado: 03-22-21
I gave up on this book at about 50%. The story is fine, though not terribly interesting. The audio killed it for me, though.
At first I was confused, but as the story went on I realised it was probably just a bad match between story and narrator. Since the narrator is American, I expected a story in America, but that is not the case. It is set in Scotland and the characters are Scots. So it makes no sense whatsoever that the narration is American. It just distracts from the story.
I listened on because the narrator had a good voice, that I liked, but the narration was a bit monotone and made it difficult to know which character was speaking. All in all, I didn't want to spend more time on this book, when I could instead listen to something better.

I wanted to jump. He made me fall. As a celebrity, I lived in the public eye, but somewhere along the way, I'd lost myself in the spotlight. Until he found me. Sam Rivers was a gorgeous, tattooed stranger who saved my life with nothing more than a simple conversation. But we were both standing on that bridge for a reason the night we met. The secrets of our pasts brought us together - and then tore us apart. Could we find a reason to hold on as life constantly pulled us down?

Ruined by the female narrator
Revisado: 09-06-20
I read this story a long time ago and liked it a lot. When I was looking at audio upgrades for my Kindle books, I bought this one. I still like the rest of the story, but with almost 6 hours to go, I am giving up on listening to the audio version and reading the book on my Kindle instead.
I didn’t know either of the narrators before buying this, and it turned out to be a mixed experience. I enjoyed to male narrator and would have liked to listen to him more. What ruined the entire story for me, was the female narrator. I have really, really tried, but I can’t listen to her anymore. She sounds mostly like a robot, at best like she is incredibly bored. When she reads male voices it sounds ridiculous.
I feel awful writing such a negative review, but I feel it was needed here. Maybe it is different for you, but I would recommend that you listen to a sample before buying this book to make sure you like her voice.

Revisado: 09-06-20
This story is so warm and awesome. I get why Casey and the others love Gustavo Tiberius, because he is such an amazing character, and oh my god, it was so funny and great to be in his company in this story. There is little angst, but plenty of feeling.
I haven’t listened to this narrator before, but he did a fantastic job of bringing the story to life. Especially Gus. I am definitely looking for more books he has narrated.

Dylan is my best friend, and the only person in my life who understands me. He doesn’t mind my social awkwardness or my weird history. The only glitch? He doesn’t know that I’m hopelessly, desperately in love with him. But I know better than to confess. Now that we’re both in college together, I’m seeing a new side of him. College Dylan drinks and has a lot of sex. None of it with me. Until the night I foolishly ask him to tutor me in more than algebra...and he actually says yes. But the cool morning light shows me how badly I’ve endangered our friendship.

Yay for caramels and hot farmboy!
Revisado: 08-11-20
I enjoyed Heartland very much. Caramels, goats, hot farmboy - what’s not to love. The Shipleys always feel special to visit and with this book it was great to get to know Dylan (and Griffin) even better.
I liked both narrators. Though, the male narrator sounded like he had a cold and the female narrator sounded strange when making Dylan’s voice, most of it was good. I’m definitely listening to this again :)

Loved the narrator! I haven’t listened to him before, and usually it takes me a while to warm up to new voices, but here I instantly loved his voice and the narration.
The book was full of all good things: MC’s with chemistry and lovely moments, interesting characters, beautiful writing, lots of feelings and a great story. It took a chapter or two for me to get into it, but then I was completely hooked all the way to the end.
