Gave up listening for many reasons....
Revisado: 10-31-23
Stopped listening half way through. Could not listen to narrator any longer. Also, why am I going to listen to a book that continuously references a website to see charts etc. and you send your email address to never receive the accompanying information. Very disappointed. Not sure if I can get my credit back but will try in this situation. More information out on Google.

Historia
The ability to use body fat for energy is essential to health - but over decades of practice, renowned family physician Catherine Shanahan, MD, observed that many of her patients could not burn their body fat between meals, trapping them in a downward spiral of hunger, fatigue, and weight gain. In The Fatburn Fix, Dr. Shanahan shows us how industrially produced vegetable oils accumulate in our body fat and disrupt our body’s energy-producing systems, driving food addictions that hijack our moods and habits while making it nearly impossible to control our weight.

Not for the average person
Revisado: 12-04-20
Struggled to finish, actually didn't. it was so over my head! so many big words and complicated explanations, at least for me. I was hoping for more simplicity and better comparisons. Scientific minds may love this but just an average fat girl looking for answers, nope!

Historia
Our brains do their best to help us out, but every so often they can be real assholes - having meltdowns, getting addicted to things, or shutting down completely at the worst possible moments. Your brain knows it's not good to do these things, but it can't help it sometimes - especially if it's obsessing about trauma it can't overcome. That's where this life-changing book comes in. With humor, patience, science, and lots of good-ole swearing, Dr. Faith explains what's going on in your skull, and talks you through the process of retraining your brain to respond appropriately....

I talk like a sailor but this is BEYOND....
Revisado: 12-03-20
Agreeing with other reviews...
The audio is horribly tinny and distracting. The AMOUNT of the language is ridiculous. I was hoping for a down to earth book that wasn't so scientific and technical, that would be easy to understand (I am not the most brilliant mind) BUT...it seems like the author was trying too hard, to the point of making up her own bad language! ALL the language, again, was distracting. It made it hard for me to actually listen to the message. I would NOT recommend this book, neither would the sailor in me.
