Regret the Purchase

It’s hard to really find fault, I was enjoying the book, the writing. What really killed it for me was personal: the series of unapologetically selfish decisions made by the author. So much introspection about motives for the job but none about the way she hurts the people around her, going so far as bringing a baby into the world she believes is on the verge of annihilation, while undercover abroad, and then dragging the baby around during operations. Ultimately, this woman is a narcissist and I came to despise her. Maybe if you read this and know this is what you’re getting yourself into, you’ll enjoy it, but I found it quite a chore to finish.

Dear Audible,
Please do not let narrators do accents. They are always distracting and rarely good.
I couldn’t stick with this book though it seemed interesting.
