Thank you for the gifted audio code, Rina!

Dark romance • Forbidden • Professor x student • Age gap • Hate to love • Bi & gay awakening • Monster x villain

“I want to break him as I own him. To claim him. Swallow him whole.”

Control. Power. Things appear one way, when really they are another. Gareth has always been the good son. A jokester. He’s been very careful not to let anyone see inside him. To know the truth.

Professor Kayden Lockwood crossed paths with Gareth and it sets things in motion that will alter everything. There is no going back now. So the battle begins.

This story had me gasping out loud. I promise you will never seen the twist coming. I will say this doesn’t feel like a new series to me. It fits right in with LOG and I would recommend reading that first for the best experience. I enjoyed seeing so many characters, especially Niko. The humor, the violence. It’s a winning combination. Oh and the spice-mostly top tier. I just had to get used to some expressions I wasn’t expecting. What I loved. How finding that one person can turn you inside out. Change everything you thought you knew about yourself. Make you do things you never have before. Where it consumes you. Like an addiction.

A standing ovation for Stephen Dexter, Grayson Owens, Teddy Hamilton, Shane East, Corvin King, Samantha Brentmoor, and Vivienne Larue. What a tremendous experience listening to them master their craft and enhance this story. I truly don’t believe it would be the same without them.

“I love how you hurt for me. How you take all the pain I give you.”

“He said I didn’t have a choice in being with him, but he’s wrong. He doesn’t have a choice in being with me.”

Thank you for the ALC, Nikki!

Gideon Frost & CJ Bloom in duet narration is exactly what this book deserved. Talk about bringing characters to life!! You can feel the edge of Kane through Gideon’s authoritative and articulate depiction. How he was able to peel back the layers just through his energy and cadence. I loved Kane through and through the first time, I’ll never get over him now. CJ’s captivating warmth and understanding throughout grounded this couple and made the connection even more powerful. The perfect pairing for Isabella and Kane.

Original review:

Thank you Nikki and The Author Agency for the ARC.

"Or maybe you were tired of surviving,"
"Maybe you wanted to learn how to live, instead."

Already a Kane fan because he says what rarely any other fighter does. Fighting is not fun. Nor is training. Kane has experienced some dark times; most if not all of his childhood actually. Heavy trauma. He’s a survivor but also incredibly broken. He pushes people away before they can get to know him or care about him, but Isabella won’t give up. She can read him like a book. Being with Isabella is more than just a calming, it allows Kane to just be. No worries. No stress. He can breathe and be in the present. For her entire life, dance was Isabella’s identity but now she can figure out who she is beyond the dancer and experience everything she was missing out on. The inevitable pull from that first glance. The forced proximity. 1 Last Shot is absolutely my favorite of the series and I loved them all. But this one just stands out. I feel like it has so much depth and growth. I couldn’t put it down. I thought about it when I was forced to. I didn’t want it to end and now that it has, I miss it. Seeing the pain wash away from Kane as he experiences friendship, love and what it means to have a family for the first time, melted me. I can’t forget Oscar. I’m a sucker for a fur friend. Everything about this book just makes me happy. Seeing a life that began in such despair thrive, is everything. It’s powerful and makes me emotional. I love Kane and Isabella and I hope you do to.

"People always just see the ballet dancer." "A travesty," "They're missing the best parts of you."

"You could be the greatest dancer that ever lived, and I'd still think the rest of you was more valuable."

“And yet, when I look over at Isabella, I feel… peace. I feel peace in a way that I've never experienced before.”

"Since the day I first saw you, I've been thinking about what it would look like to dirty up this perfection."

"I want to deserve you,"

“It’s never too late to start over. Take the lessons you learned and try to do better with the people who are still around.”

Boy was this one fun. I had such a good time that I’m very eager for Wyatt and will be downloading on release day.

Molly is back on her father’s ranch and immediately goes toe to toe with Cash. They have a few misconceptions that lead to some epic banter and monumental longing. But over time things start to change. Cash makes Molly feel like no one else ever has. Protected. Cherished. Loved. Molly makes Cash believe he can have what he’s always wanted most. A family.

Cash is a top 2024 read for me. All the feelings it gave me, the constant smile on my face, the laughs. It’s just too good. It made my heart feel full.

I did a combination read/listen. First time hearing Stephen Dexter and whoa. His voice is so soothing. Like a warm welcome. Fun and sexy. Definitely at the top of my list now. Lila Winters was perfect. The southern accents added that genuine touch. Together they made this one of my favorite audiobooks. I will be listening to this one multiple times.

“You’re a cowgirl now, honey. And cowgirls can’t be tamed. Wouldn’t dare to try.”

“Just because you’re not perfect doesn’t mean you’re broken.” “I don’t need perfect. Your parents didn’t need it. World doesn’t need you to be perfect either. We just need you. You and your messes. You light up a room just by being in it, honey.” “There’s nothing about you that needs fixing. Anyone that makes you feel otherwise, they ain’t meant for you.”

“Wear the hat, ride the cowboy.”

“There wasn’t, and will never be, anyone else,”

Emotional. Relatable. Joyous. Strong. Home.
These words really round out the journey this book takes you on. Specifically Hailey’s awareness and growth. When she finally comes to terms that she’s in a toxic relationship, she gets out. But that doesn’t mean the damage just goes away. Jax has always been there for Hailey. Her childhood best friend. Looking out for her. Protecting her. But things are changing. The way he looks at her is different. She’s grown up now and he sees her in a new light. He makes her feel safe and wanted. Loves her for who she is, as she is. These two were meant for each other and it shows. They have a beautiful connection and it’s also super hot. Jax is by Hailey’s side as she finds her way back and it is everything you want it to be.

Nikki went above and beyond making the 2 Fights audiobook. Narrated in duet by Emma Wilder and J. F. Harding and produced by Audio Sorceress. Emma will pull at your heartstrings as Hailey navigates some life changing experiences. And you’ll definitely want to hear J. F. Harding as Jax saying baby girl. Now available on Audible.

“my now is the only thing that matters. Now I am free—“

"I know what you need, baby girl," "And I’m going to give it to you."

"Trust me enough to love you just as much today as I did yesterday."

“I have a purpose. It’s her.”

Ava is in the dark. Spiraling. Escaping.
Eli is her nemesis. A predator. The devil.
But he’s always been the one. She likes to toy with him. Push his limits. One day he pushes back and she never sees it coming…

Whoa. This book!! The intensity. The depth. I don’t even know how to describe the magic Rina created. I absolutely love Ava and Eli’s story. It was so unique and well done. The grasp it had on me and the curves Rina weaved through made my jaw drop. I read and listened to this one. I can’t rave enough about Shane East and Zara Hampton-Brown. They are incredible and killed it as Eli and Ava. You can feel the angst, desire, passion and distress. Eli is quite awful until you realize all that he has done for Ava. The time and care. The ultimate sacrifice. My heart definitely broke but in typical Rina fashion, she put it back tougher. I just loved this book and felt it was the perfect way to end the series.

“He looks at me with renewed intensity. Nefarious intent. My own God of War.”

“Attention keeps the emptiness at bay.”

“We stay afloat together or we drown together.”

“People say eyes are the windows to the soul, but it’s impossible to tell what he’s thinking, no matter how long you stare at them. They run deep—so deep that I was pulled into their midst once upon a time. I fought and floundered and yearned to be the only one who understood them.”

“You had no business playing with my fire, Mrs. King, for you will not survive what I want to do to you.”

“Want to know why it was scary, Mrs. King? Because you acted like prey in front of a predator. If you don’t wish to be devoured, don’t run away.”

“you’re my sole light in the darkness.”

“It’s okay, Daddy. We are doing our best.”

Will has been grieving for years after losing his wife. Closed off and all about business. He has his little girl, Ava, to focus on. Chloe grew up in a house with women that hated men. She’s inexperienced and a little disillusioned with love but strong and independent. She’s also Ava’s kindergarten teacher and new nanny.

So what happens when a breath of fresh air and sunlight enters a world of full of clouds? Magic. That’s what we have here. That’s what Kandi continues to create. I’m a sucker for single dad and Will takes the cake. Broody but kind. Protective. And that mouth. Chloe is the sweetest. She really is goals. And seeing Ava shine melted my heart. I know everyone is talking about chapter 21 and 25, and rightly so. But chapter 31 moved my soul. The break through and surrender. It makes me emotional.

It’s not a secret I’m a big Kandi fan but Kings of the Ice is undoubtedly my favorite series of hers. I’m obsessed with every book. Learn Your Lesson just took the #1 spot and is a top 2024 read for me.

Big shout out to Hannah Chiclana and Max Lindsey for bringing Chloe and Will to LIFE. I had already finished the book when I started the audio and it felt like a new experience. Everything I loved was amplified. Just wonderful performances and a perfect pairing.

“Show me you know what to do.”

“I never knew it could be like this. I always thought…” “You make me feel powerful. Sexy,” “Wanted.”

“Chloe was healing us, just by existing.”

“I miss her every day,” “But I have another confession to make, one that might affirm what a terrible person I am.” “Because I miss her, I do,” “But I miss you more.”

“One day, I was just a shadow of a man going through the motions, surviving. And the next, I had you. Suddenly, I was awake. Suddenly, I was smiling, and laughing, and longing for someone in a way I didn’t know was possible. You… you altered my fucking chemistry, Chloe. You obliterated the dark haze I’d existed in for years. You brought in the sun.”

“Because you are not the kind of woman any rule applies to. You are the exception. You are the one they’re meant to be broken for.”

“You’re mine, Sunny. And I’m yours. Got it?”

Stay With Me is book two in the Sugarland Creek series but the first one I’ve read by Brooke. Not only do I need to go back to book one but I also want to get into her backlist. This was a fantastic small town cowboy romance and I want more.

Magnolia has had it bad for her best friend’s brother, Tripp, for years. Tripp has secretly felt the same but won’t act on it because his brother also likes Magnolia and since she’s his little sister’s best friend, that puts her in the off limits category. It also doesn’t help that Tripp is plagued by guilt and regret from a tragic accident so he subconsciously punishes himself.

Years go by. Lives are lived and things change. Tripp and Magnolia cross that line and nothing will ever be the same again. But just when things seem to be perfect, she finds out she’s pregnant and it’s not Tripp’s baby. She made a mistake with her ex before getting together with Tripp and now has to live with that decision. She doesn’t want to hold him back so she ends things but he’s not going to walk away. Not after finally getting everything he’s ever wanted.

Man!!! This book sucked me in and I’m so sad it’s over. Such a special story. I don’t think there are enough words to express how truly wonderful Tripp is. A hardworking, protective, dirty talking, possessive, sensitive, smart attentive man. Everything the sassy, determined, fun loving Magnolia deserves. Aiden Snow and Savannah Peachwood knocked it out of the park. They brought these characters to life!!! Delivered the banter and passion. You could feel the energy through the pace and intensity. I HIGHLY recommend!

“Grief doesn’t have a time limit, Tripp. Some days it can feel like it was forever ago and at the same time, like it was only yesterday.”

“I don’t wanna move on and neither do you. We belong together. You want this as much as I do.”

“You will always be the love of my life no matter if we’re together or not. There is no moving on for me. There is and has always been only you.”

“Knock me up, cowboy.”

“It’s you and me. That's it. We're it."

I read this a year and a half ago maybe? I really enjoyed it and have devoured the entire Fight Game series since. But when the audio was announced, I knew I wanted to revisit Remy and Tristan. Classic enemies to lovers. They have the best push and pull. The way they antagonize the another. How they compete, always wanting to come out on top. It’s the best.
It really begins as an accident. Forced to live together. Training at the gym. Out with friends. Constantly tempted, even though they really dislike one another. They think they’ll hook up and get it out of their systems. Neither wants anything more, but once they get together they can’t get enough. Can’t stay away. Craving that connection that’s explosive and becomes such a natural comfort.
Ugh!! I forgot just how much I love their chemistry. It’s so hot and intense. Brooke Daniels really brought Remi’s sarcasm and fire to life. Gideon Frost enhanced the ever sexy and dominantly sensual Tristan. I’m not kidding when I say this audio is a MUST. Elevated. That the word. Definitely pick this one up.

“We train as a family; we fight as a family.”

"Do your worst, Remy baby.”

"Why does it feel so different with you?"

“How could we ever be together? How could we ever be apart?”

Heartbreak. Abandonment. Despair. Childhood experiences can leave deep scars.
Sometimes the right person comes along and makes things a little, or a lot, easier.
Jasmine meets Tyler when they are kids. He’s her best friend’s brother. She always felt safe with him and over time things developed. Needless to say, it didn’t work out. Years later they are forced to reconnect and feelings resurface. When you have such a genuine bond it doesn’t just sever. Everything snaps back into place like time didn’t pass. Ugh. WHAT A LOVE STORY. The passion. And sorrow. So much lost over a misunderstanding, even though it was with good intentions. It was like my soul was being ripped out of my chest when Jasmine was baring hers. Words so moving I highlighted almost everything. A love so deep she’ll let it all go and sacrifice her heart to keep others from breaking. If you have a “one that got away”, this is a book for you. The sad and happy tears I cried!! A beautifully written second chance love story full of angst and longing.

“We’d always choose this, time and time again, over and over, no matter what.”

“You’re impossible to forget, Jasmine. Impossible to get over.”

“Whether you claim me or not, I am yours.”

Thank you Rina and Chaotic Creatives for the audio code.

“He tastes like my own downfall and I’m ready to drown in it.”

Order. Habit. Control. Brandon has built his life around this as a form of survival. He needs his schedule to be full to keep the demons away. What he didn’t count on was for the noise to settle him when Nikolai Sokolov abruptly entered his world. Polar opposites in every way. Niko is boisterous, enjoys violence and doesn’t take no for an answer. He shakes Bran’s structure but brings a serene he’s never felt before. However, their story is not an easy one. The push and pull is strong. Many walls have to fall. Secrets buried so deep it seems impossible to face. I love them and I love their love. It was beautiful to watch it unfold.
Can’t think of a better collaboration to bring this book to life. Teddy Hamilton, Shane East, Mackenzie Cartwright, & Zara Hampton Brown absolutely slayed the audio. It’s off the charts phenomenal. I’ve already listened to it twice and I’m pretty sure I’ll be giving it another go after the holidays. It’s that good. I thrive on the intense emotion and get lost in the story so easily because of their talent. All the stars for the performance and story.

“Deny. Forget. Pretend.”

“Don’t run away from me again. If you do, I’ll flip the world upside down to find you. You’re mine now, baby.”

“I can’t hate you, baby. It’s impossible.”

“Please let me hold you like this. It doesn’t hurt when you touch me.”

“Even if you hate yourself, I’ll love you for the both of us.”
