this was very emotional book for me.

when I first started listening to Sally's story it reminds me of my mom quite a bit the sadness in her voice the loneliness that she felt. I have heard these very same sounds from my own mother as she told the tale of her upbringing. at first I wasn't sure that I wanted to hear this book because it was painful then I found myself not being able to stop listening wishing that the sweet lady that I watched on the screen my whole life had had an easier life than she had. Wishing that I could have been her parent that I could have given her the love and the attention and the encouragement that she needed. But as I listened to the ending of this book I cried because it was the most beautiful moments between a mother and a daughter. I'm a caregiver and I have set on the side and watch as many people passed. They do need permission to go they need to know that they were loved and that what they did in life was okay. Sally if you read this I am so proud of the woman you are!

these were things that I used to know. But you go through life you raise kids you get divorced you figure out who you are you go through all the things in life and you find yourself going through menopause and forgetting things. It was really good for me to listen to this book again and remember that I'm much more strong and resilient than I thought I was and the places that I have become week in a canal strengthen again.

I wish I would have had this book in my early twenties throughout my marriage with my late husband. it would have made a world of difference
