Historia
Rachel Jenner is walking in a Bristol park with her eight-year-old son, Ben, when he asks if he can run ahead. It's an ordinary request on an ordinary Sunday afternoon, and Rachel has no reason to worry - until Ben vanishes. Police are called, search parties go out, and Rachel, already insecure after her recent divorce, feels herself coming undone. As hours and then days pass without a sign of Ben, everyone who knew him is called into question, from Rachel's newly married ex-husband to her mother-of-the-year sister.

Historia
Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Good but not as good as Gone Girl & Sharp Obeject
Revisado: 04-30-15
Would you try another book from Gillian Flynn and/or the narrators?
Yes. Gillian Flynn is now my new favourite writer.
Could you see Dark Places being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Hm...could be. But if there is a movie made, I wish Sharp Object can turn into a movie more.
Any additional comments?
I was expecting something fast pace like her other 2 books but this one is a little bit slow and I often needed to skip 30 secs to listen ahead.

Historia
The secret behind France's astonishingly well-behaved children is here. When American journalist Pamela Druckerman has a baby in Paris, she doesn't aspire to become a "French parent". French parenting isn't a known thing, like French fashion or French cheese. Even French parents themselves insist they aren't doing anything special. But French children are far better behaved and more in command of themselves than American kids....

Learned something from French Parenting Indeed
Revisado: 04-06-15
What did you like best about this story?
It gave me a new perspective on parenting and I love the fact that the author spent time observing and was able to clearly describe that she observed. I now learned not to be over-nurturing, learned that saying no to my kid is ok, learned that letting them misbehave a little at home (but letting them know that when they are outside, they need to behave)...learned a lot indeed.

In Amy Poehler's highly anticipated first book, Yes Please, she offers up a big juicy stew of personal stories, funny bits on sex and love and friendship and parenthood and real life advice (some useful, some not so much). Powered by Amy's charming and hilarious, biting yet wise voice, and including a star-studded guest list of vocal appearances.

I would say that the book was so-so, I don't hate it but there was not a specific part that I remember I like...

Historia
With Normal Gets You Nowhere, Kelly Cutrone invites us to get our freak on. History is full of successful, world-changing people who did not fit in. Think Nelson Mandela, Joan of Arc, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, John Lennon, and Rosa Parks. Instead of changing themselves to accommodate the status quo or what others thought they should be, these people hung a light on their differences - and changed humanity in the process. “I know you don’t feel normal, so why are you trying to act it and prove to everyone you are?” Cutrone says.

Revisado: 04-06-15
What disappointed you about Normal Gets You Nowhere?
I don't think the content sync with the title. I was expecting something more...hm...different and daring... I couldn't even finish the book.
Would you be willing to try another one of Kelly Cutrone’s performances?
Her performance was ok, acceptable...if she is the author...
Any additional comments?
Was quite boring overall and I find her much sharper on TV, when she gives comments and advices.

DVF's Character Rocks!
Revisado: 04-06-15
If you could sum up The Woman I Wanted to Be in three words, what would they be?
Honest, Daring and Intriging
Any additional comments?
DVF's life is a life with no boundaries, she was daring to give anything a try, and she was open for adventure in life. Love her attitude and find it very interesting. No, I won't be able to step out of my comfort zone and try new things after listening to her story but I do find it very amusing. Love it.

Historia
The first thing Sophia Amoruso sold online wasn’t fashion - it was a stolen book. She spent her teens hitchhiking, committing petty theft, and dumpster diving. By twenty-two, she had resigned herself to employment, but was still broke, directionless, and working a mediocre day job she’d taken for the health insurance. It was there that Sophia decided to start selling vintage clothes on eBay. Eight years later, she is the founder, CEO, and creative director of Nasty Gal, a $100 million plus online fashion retailer with more than 350 employees.

Inspiring story for girl bosses
Revisado: 04-06-15
Where does #GIRLBOSS rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I would categorise it as one of the "memoires" I listened to and I would put it second to DVF's book. #Girlboss was quick and funny + it's truly inspiring to those who have a vision & dream but didn't do too well in school.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting is that Sophia Amoruso was very straight forward and honest about things that she did (both good & bad), and I love the fact that she actually shared her days working alone and handling everything, because for all business owners, I am sure everyone would relate to that period of "hardship", haha...
What does Sara Jes Austell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I don't know how Sophia Amoruso sounds like but I would definitely imagine her voice would be something similar to Sara Jes Austell, which made it sounds like the author herself was talking and telling her own story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Not exactly. Given it was a good book and I enjoyed listening to, it was something I can wait until I am absolutely free when I listen.

Historia
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

Twisted and Evil but in an attractive way...
Revisado: 04-06-15
Would you listen to Gone Girl again? Why?
Hm... I don't tend to listen to stories I have already listened to, especially for Gone Girl when the story is still so vivid in my head.
What did you like best about this story?
The detail description of emotions and thinking of the characters. I mean... Amy... my god...
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I actually pulled an all nighter trying to finish the book (and I was suppose to have a 9am meeting the next day!)
Any additional comments?
I am just glad that I have finished the book before watching the movie. The book was so much better and I would to choose Ben Affleck to play Nick...

Historia
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

A story that kept me guessing - who did it!?
Revisado: 04-06-15
What made the experience of listening to The Girl on the Train the most enjoyable?
The great performance of the narrators! There are quite a few characters in the story but the narrators made it very easy to identify.
What other book might you compare The Girl on the Train to and why?
I would compare it with Gone Girl because both stories talks about the "dark side" of humans... which could be an underlying traits of anyone, even us.
What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I think reading and listening the book would offer totally different experience, however, as mentioned early on in my first comment, the narrators really did a good job in the "acting"... especially the dramatic difference between Anna and Rachel - the tone of them really shape the story & the character
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I would say that the first 15 min was a bit difficult to sink in since it would take a little bit of effort to listen to all the background and the various characters. However, after that, I was quite hooked onto the story.
