Historia
The history of magic is as long as time and as wide as the world. In every culture, in every age, in every place and, probably, in every heart, there is magic. Harry Potter: A History of Magic reveals some of the hidden stories behind real-world magic and explores some of J.K. Rowling's magical inventions alongside their folkloric, cultural and historical forebears.

A little disappointed
Revisado: 02-27-21
When I bought this I was expecting the text book version of a history of magic as a supplement to the potter series. I didn't expect a documentary on the actual history of magic. I was looking for background info to the potter universe not this... I would probably buy this, but it's not what I was expecting based on the published works. What this is, wasn't clear when I bought it. really disappointed.

Historia
"It doesn't take an Einstein to understand modern physics," says Professor Wolfson at the outset of these 24 lectures on what may be the most important subjects in the universe: relativity and quantum physics. Both have reputations for complexity. But the basic ideas behind them are, in fact, simple and comprehensible by anyone. These dynamic and illuminating lectures begin with a brief overview of theories of physical reality starting with Aristotle and culminating in Newtonian or "classical" physics.

Good lectures, a little out if date
Revisado: 12-27-18
I really enjoyed this lecture series. It is a great overview of modern physics. It is however a bit dated. It speaks about the future LHC at CERN and the potential discovery of the Higgs boson which was discovered in 2013. Also my understanding is that string theory was basically abandoned. That being said it is well worth the listen and inspired me to dig deeper.

Historia
American populism has always been home to a fascinating assortment of charismatic leaders, characters, kooks, cranks, and sometimes charlatans who have led the charge of ordinary folks who have gotten wise to the ways of the swamp. Every Man a King tells the stories of America's populist leaders, from Andrew Jackson and Teddy Roosevelt to Ross Perot, Pat Buchanan, and Donald Trump. It is a rollicking history of an American attitude that has shaped not only our current moment, but also the long struggle over who gets to define the truths we hold to be self evident.

Historia
The purpose of studying the Old Testament is to understand God and his redemptive work more fully. However, this goal is complicated by the fact that it was transmitted through a very different language and culture from our own. A Survey of the Old Testament provides an indispensable guide for undergraduate students and other listeners by exploring the literary, historical, and theological issues behind the Old Testament and its various books.

Great audio lecture
Revisado: 01-16-18
I really enjoyed the lecture. I was a bit disappointed that it was the lecture and not audio of the book. I guess ill have to tackle this one the old fashioned way.
