Historia
Kitty Norville is a midnight-shift DJ for a Denver radio station---and a werewolf in the closet. Sick of lame song requests, she accidentally starts "The Midnight Hour," a late-night advice show for the supernaturally disadvantaged. After desperate vampires, werewolves, and witches across the country begin calling in to share their woes, her new show is a raging success.

Good story; narrator is okay
Revisado: 12-31-14
I liked it overall, but the narrator constantly sounded like she was declaiming, like she was always on the radio. Real radio hosts don't talk like that, especially not when they're not on the air.
That said, she does have a lovely voice. I just wish that when the character says she's angry, she actually sounded angry.

Historia
Clouds are brewing over Cadogan House, and recently turned vampire Merit can't tell if this is the darkness before the dawn or the calm before the storm. With the city itself in turmoil over paranormals and the state threatening to pass a paranormal-registration act, times haven't been this precarious for vampires since they came out of the closet. If only they could lay for a bit, and let the mortals calm down. But that's when the waters of Lake Michigan suddenly turn pitch black - and things really start getting ugly.

Thank goodness Cynthia Holloway is gone

Would you listen to Drink Deep again? Why?
I listen to the series fairly frequently.
How could the performance have been better?
Get a different narrator. Seriously. All the interrogatives are flat; no upswing on the intonation at the end of a question. And the mispronunciations... "supposably", "undoubtably", "Dar-eye-us" (it should "Dare-ee-us", and she got it right early on in the series), "doc-tor'-al", among other sins. All the men drawl, and her pauses at commas are just weird. It's like she doesn't pre-read her copy. It is, quite frankly, appalling. I can only assume she works really, really cheap. I'd be thrilled to rebuy the series if it was re-recorded by someone who can read the English language correctly.

A New York Times extended list best seller and the exciting fifth book in the national best selling Pink Carnation series. After years abroad, Robert, Duke of Dovedale, has returned to England to avenge the murder of his mentor. To uncover the murderer's identity, he must infiltrate the infamous, secret Hellfire Club. But the Duke has no idea that an even more difficult challenge awaits him - in a mistaken, romantic-minded young lady.

Re-record? Please?
Revisado: 11-15-11
Justine Eyre might be a perfectly decent narrator, but her English accent is atrocious and I must add my voice to the chorus saying "El-woz? What?"
I really wish this book could be re-recorded by Kate Reading. They did it with one of the Artemis Fowl books, when they used someone other than Nathaniel Parker. The backlash against the other narrator was so great (I assume) that they had Nathaniel Parker re-record the book.
Kate Reading is the voice of this series. Please let her be the voice of the *entire* series.
