Historia
Everything Poppy has ever believed in is a lie, including the man she was falling in love with. Thrust among those who see her as a symbol of a monstrous kingdom, she barely knows who she is without the veil of the Maiden. But what she does know is that nothing is as dangerous to her as him. The Dark One. The Prince of Atlantia. He wants her to fight him, and that’s one order she’s more than happy to obey. He may have taken her, but he will never have her.

Revisado: 02-26-25
The after listening to Elizabeth Evans this voice is NOT my Bryce. But everything else was great. It really made key plot points standout even more.

Historia
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome - especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom - so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do - and sacrifice - for her.

Why don’t the different covenants have different accents
Revisado: 09-27-24
Kinda strange to me that there’s not one person in the New York covenant has a “New York accent” and again…17 year olds don’t talk like this? I believe later in the series someone says “all good in the hood” makes the characters far less cool.

Historia
The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi-pure-bloods-have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals-well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: Become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway.

Teens don’t talk like this.
Revisado: 09-27-24
Even in 2014 when this was originally written, 17 year olds don’t talk like this. They don’t say things like “craptastick” this seems like it was written by someone who has never listened to a teen speak other than in movies. At times it really took me out, I didn’t mind the narrator she was fine. The story was slightly predictable, but good enough to keep me interested.

Great book, Unsatisfying ending
Revisado: 02-25-24
I did enjoy the book. Didn't like the ending. I feel like she left so many threads hanging. What about her mom? What about him and his new role? What about Kaye and her new discovery about herself? I feel like i needed few more chapters to flesh out the end of the third act.
Edit Im reading Valiant thinking thats the end of our heros stories, nope theres a third book which ties all of them together. So nevermind, still think more story could have been told here but theres a whole nother book which is cool!

Historia
A hunted princess. A violent gameshow. A nation that wants her dead. When Princess Briar moved to the Amstraad Republic, she didn't expect it would be a battle for survival. She certainly did not expect to star in a violent game show where contestants compete for her death. Her only chance of leaving the purge alive is a scarred young man entered into the games as an underdog. But will he betray her to win the grand prize?

This made me despise Briar
Revisado: 02-25-24
Ok off top, I hate how Briar was written. I hate how clueless she is about everything, and even when give a comprehensive explanation he responds usually is "huh, what? I dont understand" If I had a dollar for everytime her throat closed up or her stomach tightened. And my issue is yes Zea was naive and didnt know anything but as the first princess trials book progressed SHE LEARNED. I feel like Briar was unchanged. Even through the third act she was still "huh? What? Whats going on I dont get it." Drove me nuts. He indecision drove me crazy too. Even looking death in the face shes till "what do I do what do I do." Girl, shoot him or run but stop standing there. I was over her by act three. Loved the princess trials, this was a meh for me.

Historia
Chris is the guy Cosette always wanted. Fun. Funny. Lighthearted and sweet. Chris always manages to find beauty and laughter, even when fighting a chapel full of demons. He's exactly what she needs. Except he's a werewolf and she's a member of the Lunar Court—the only fey court that holds sway over the werewolves. Even on his best day, Chris isn't strong enough to last a few hours in the Lunar Court without becoming a slave. No matter how much Cosette's heart wants him, she knows she has to let him go.

So Chris Just doesn’t have an accent now?
Revisado: 05-27-23
It’s been said multiple times that Chris has a southern Texas drawl. Multiple times in multiple books. Somehow he lost that, you’d think a book specifically about him would at least have his accent. It’s also annoying how every narrator mispronounces St. Ailbes. In fact the male narrator pronounced it correctly then incorrect in the same book. Last annoying thing is how there multiple repetitive phrases “I have some sight, but nothing like Tessa.” The story is good enough, but it would be nice to have some consistency between narrators.

Historia
Luciana may have failed to steal Tessa's magic, but she's just getting started on her crusade for magical domination. If her demonic summoning isn't stopped, it could mean the end of everything. Tessa's pack, including her mate Dastien, are ready to fight, but the ragtag group of shifters and witches are no match for Luciana's power. A little help (and ancient Inca mojo) from Tessa's bruja cousin, Claudia, may give the side of good a chance if she can make it home in time, but stopping the war is no longer an option. Only time will tell who will still be standing.

Oh boy the narrator
Revisado: 09-30-22
This narrator is fine until she tries to do the accents. Coming from Elizabeth Evans to this is pretty grating. Stacys accents are pretty awful. Her French and Irish accents sound the same. I do recall maybe Chris having a thick Texas accent which he does not now. Its just crazy Id imagine if you're writing a book where characters have thick accents you'd find someone who can effectively pull those off. At least she pronounced the names correctly I guess, unlike the narrator of the previous book.

Historia
Claudia de Santos has always looked out for every witch but herself. She fought from the shadows as her coven turned dark, and with a little help from her half-witch/half-Alpha werewolf cousin, Teresa McCaide, Claudia is doing everything she can to keeper friends and family in the light. Now the coven has splintered into two factions: Luciana's army of witches wielding dark magic, and Claudia's few stragglers who fight with the wolves. War is coming, and it won't be much of a battle if Claudia can't find the spells to counteract Luciana's demonic power.

Did she even listen to the other books.
Revisado: 03-21-22
I’m in chapter 3 and the narrator has mispronounced 2 of the major pieces in the series. The schools name and Dastien. I understand that since the book is from a different characters perspective there needs to be a new voice, but jeeze. Did no one proofread or proof-listen? Also she gave Dastien a heavy French accent. Again, I get he’s from France but he’s lived in Texas for quite awhile, why would his accent be so thick. Especially since it wasn’t so think in the last 3 books. Really takes me out of the story.

Tessa McCaide has a unique talent for getting into trouble. Then again, it isn’t easy for a girl with psychic visions to ignore what she sees. Luckily Tessa and her family are leaving California and moving halfway across the country, giving her the perfect opportunity to leave her reputation as “Freaky Tessa” behind. But Tessa doesn’t realize that kissing the wrong guy in her new Texas town could land her in far more trouble than she ever imagined. Like being forced to attend St. Ailbe’s Academy, a secret boarding school for werewolves.

The book is fine but…
Revisado: 03-18-22
The book is fine, I’ll listen to anything Elizabeth evans reads. Here’s my issue, Tessa can be a bit annoying with all here “huh?” “What?” “No way” how is it possible she doesn’t believe in magic or witches, when she has magical powers and so does her mother and grandmother. How is she so resistant to the fact that werewolves exist? And when she finds out, she has ZERO idea how it works? You can’t even guess based on all the books and movies? Totally not realistic.
