Historia
Fred and Rose West are virtually unique in British criminal history: a husband and wife who loved and killed together. During their long relationship, the Wests murdered a series of young women, burying the remains of nine victims under their home at 25 Cromwell Street, Gloucester, including those of their daughter. What was left of Fred West's eight-year-old stepdaughter was dug up from under the Wests' previous Gloucester home; his first wife and nanny were buried in open country.

Unfortunate commentary
Revisado: 11-14-22
This story could have been told without all the nitty gritty details of the sexual abuse. I also really hated the constant derogatory discussion of people’s weight and body shape. Omitting some of this would not have negatively affected the story.

Alaina is an autopsy technician with a passion for science, true crime and all things creepy. Ashleigh is a hair stylist who may look glamorous on the outside, but houses spooky core. Now that this bad Larry has been identified, it seemed like a perfect debut episode. Come take a look through the crimes and capture of Joseph James DeAngelo AKA The Golden State Killer, The East Area Rapist, The Diamond Knot Killer and The Original Nightstalker. He may have began his reign of terror way back in 1976 but he was able to continue it for four decades before pesky familial DNA was able to take him ...

Love these ladies!
Revisado: 03-11-22
I started from newest and went backwards over the last few months and this is hands down my favorite podcast! I love the banter that takes bleak subjects and makes them digestible without degrading the visceral nature of what the victims endured and without aggrandizing the killers. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!

Excellent except for the production
Revisado: 03-11-20
I am fascinated by the criminal mind and this particular case has been one that really baffled me. I was impressed with the detailed descriptions of the crime scenes, the police and FBI procedures, and the focus on the victims. I felt that honor was paid to those who were injured or killed and I also felt that those who survived and the family members of the murdered victims were given an opportunity to be heard which was proper. No compassion was given to the killers except that which was felt by the victims themselves which was very appreciated as nothing offends me more than when people portray killers as folk heroes. They were monsters and that came through loud and clear. It was handled with delicacy and at the end you do feel a sense of compassionate closure.
My only complaint was about the production itself. The music played twice between each chapter which was exceptionally annoying. It was too loud and way to long and distracted the listener from this heartbreaking story. I listened at night sometimes and the music would blast out at a much higher decibel and disrupted my husband’s sleep. It was also startling when driving.

I was worried needlessly
Revisado: 09-09-19
I will start by saying how much I love Ilona Andrews’ books. The Kate Daniels series is one of my all time favorites and I can’t even count the number of times I have read it. When the first Hidden Legacy book came out I realized I loved it just as much and I became hooked immediately.
Due to my job I spend a huge amount of time in my car and audiobooks became my main method of reading. Renee Raudman is as linked to both series in my mind as the characters themselves. When I heard there would be a new narrator I was worried that something would be lost. I am happy to report that I enjoyed this book just as much!
I have read the Ilona was worried about this new perspective on an existing series but I am as invested. Catalina is enticing as her more passive power brings a different twist to Prime magic. Alessandro is excellent as the male protagonist and is the perfect foil to Catalina and House Baylor.
I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars! I also recommend that anyone interested in the series read it in order.

Joys and sorrows
Revisado: 09-07-18
This is one of my favorite series and this last installment did not disappoint. I love the Kate and Curran dynamic. I loved seeing the interplay between the different magical powers of Atlanta. I love the sharp wit and sharp dialog that is the essence of Ilona and Gordon Andrews writing style.
The sorrow is in the ending of a series I have loved since the beginning. When I had hardships or difficulties in life, these books pulled me out of my funk and made me laugh. Sometimes they would make me cry and this one was no exception. It was a fitting conclusion. It was beautifully crafted and closed a lot (but not all) of the big plot devices. I am hopeful that they will be addressed in other books about side characters. I also hope that like a present we will still see glimpses of these people who while imaginary, feel like good friends.
This is the end of an era and oh what a gift it was. Five stars.

To the forest on the shore of the Kingdom of the Isles, the orphan Pug came to study with the master magician Kulgan. But though his courage won him a place at court and the heart of a lovely princess, he was ill at ease with the normal ways of wizardry. Yet Pug's strange sort of magic would one day change forever the fates of two worlds. For dark beings from another world had opened a rift in the fabric of spacetime to being again the age-old battle between the forces of Order and Chaos.

Still a favorite
Revisado: 07-23-18
I first read this book in the early 90’s and loved it. It became a favorite that I would pull off the shelf, dust off, and reread every five to seven years. I love these characters. After all these years I feel like I know them as well as the author. So when they were recently re-released as audiobooks I was both excited and trepidatious. I needn’t have worried.
The narrator did a phenomenal job of capturing the personalities and the individual attitudes of each character. That’s no small feat especially considering many of us have read them so many times and have their voices already in our hands. A round of applause is deserved.
I cannot wait to start book two, Magician Master, and can only pray that the rest of the series will be converted to audiobook as well. Five stars

Surprising
Revisado: 06-25-18
I had been in a book drought for a few weeks. I read Ready Player One and this book came up as a suggested reading. I figured I would give it a try. I loved it. There were tiny inconsistencies and it was a little bit long winded but I didn’t seem to mind. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
It had all the best aspects of a really good D&D type story but with an engaging fresh open mindedness that I found refreshing. Some of the best fighters were female and the most intriguing characters were not the most powerful. Solutions were obtained by thinking outside the box which was also appreciated. Nothing was straight forward and there were plenty of twists and turns.
I am looking forward to the sequel and am excited to see where this goes. Five stars.

Enjoyable and hilarious
Revisado: 09-13-17
I loved this audiobook for the most part. In fact it only fell a little short of a 5 star rating because the multiple viewpoints happening concurrently were a bit confusing and pulled me out of the story a little. But for a debut novel I thoroughly enjoyed it. The puns, the tongue in cheek jokes, the ridiculous situations and the visuals had me laughing out loud. I think the most intriguing aspect was how the corporation was an entity and character on its own and carried part of the story. I highly recommend if you enjoy satire.

What do you get when you combine a three-headed monster named Charles; a rotund, gay, dancing Demon named Doug; a culinary disaster baked by Mother Nature; a celibate premarital councilor named Jeff; an offer from Satan that's impossible to refuse; and Steve Perry? You get the royal wedding from hell - or, to be more accurate, possibly in hell. All I want to do is marry the Vampyre of my dreams, with my closest friends and family in attendance. Yep, I know nuptials in the undead world are unheard of, but I'm still hanging on to my humanity if only by a thread.
