Historia
For generations, everything has been getting faster, better, and cheaper. Finally, we reached the point that almost anything you could ever want could be sent to your home within days - even hours - of when you decided you wanted it. America made that happen, but now America has lost interest in keeping it going.

Stop with the obsessive over-pronounced "T"
Revisado: 09-02-22
I desperately wanted to listen, but 20 minutes in, I just cannot deal with the OBSESSIVE and grating over pronounced "T". Maybe this was aimed towards non native English speakers? I just can't endure it. Sending the audio book back and will have to hunt the hard copy. Subject matter is interesting but narration made this untenable.

Historia
In The Accidental Superpower, international strategist Peter Zeihan examines how geography, combined with demography and energy independence, will pave the way for one of the great turning points in history, and one in which America reasserts its global dominance. No other country has a greater network of internal waterways, a greater command of deepwater navigation, or a firmer hold on industrialization technologies than America.

Interesting forecasts but gaps in solid reality
Revisado: 02-21-21
I'm not the brightest crayon in the box, and I'm not an expert like the author. I just could not help but think there are two critical components missing, and I wished he would have covered them here.
#1. Individuals...not government...are the originators of all capital, regardless of geography. All trends, though observable en masse, originate with individuals making decisions and acting upon them. This fact was built into the governance structure of post-enlightenment representative republics like the original founding of the United States.
The United States is painted as rather impregnable and unsinkable throughout the book, at least that was my impression. This just didn't make sense to me. I get that we have awesome rivers and tons of farmland that's well-defended. BUT...
#2. There was no discussion about the potential of balkanization of the US or a resurgence of State Independence. Some might think this is fanciful, but given the author's depth in analysis of other related subjects, I really wanted to hear this addressed somehow. The author noted that decentralization was headed for Europe, but seemed to suggest that trends in Europe stay there.
Overall I enjoyed the book and wanted to thank the author for his work. I appreciated it very much. Thank you.

Historia
The legacy of General Nathan Bedford Forrest is deeply divisive. Best known for being accused of war crimes at the Battle of Fort Pillow and for his role as first grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan - an organization he later denounced - Forrest has often been studied as a military figure, but never before studied as a fascinating individual who wrestled with the complex issues of his violent times. Bust Hell Wide Open is a comprehensive portrait of Nathan Bedford Forrest as a man: his achievements, failings, reflections, and regrets.

Historia
How did the founding generation intend for us to interpret and apply the Constitution? Are liberals right when they cite its “elastic” clauses to justify big government, or are conservatives right when they cite its explicit limits on federal power? Professor Brion McClanahan, popular author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Founding Fathers, finds the answers by going directly to the source—the Founders themselves, who debated all the relevant issues in their state constitutional conventions.

I finished listening to Kevin Mitnick's "The Art of Invisibility" and wanted to learn more. This book was a great collection of various topics, and I really enjoyed learning more ways to keep things secure. Definitely thought the stories about epic failures were valuable.
