Excellent story! Must read.
Revisado: 07-08-23
The character development, plot, and authenticity of this novel are all excellent. My family and I moved from Washington to Alaska in 1979. The author clearly knows Alaska.
The story is griping, aggravating, funny, sad, and ultimately cathartic.
One of the protagonist’s love of Tolkien and Stephen King are a nice bonus. 5 stars for sure.
Even though she made me totally mad at some points.

I really liked it. It took me a minute to get into the book, but the plot was good and character development great. When they made a reference to Ruth Zardow and a few toes to Three Pines, that added an extra star.

Historia
Hardly a day goes by when nine-year-old Laurent Lepage doesn't cry wolf. From alien invasions to walking trees to winged beasts in the woods to dinosaurs spotted in the village of Three Pines, his tales are so extraordinary no one can possibly believe him. Including Armand and Reine-Marie Gamache, who now live in the little Quebec village.

RIP Ralph Cosham, narrator of the first 10 books. The new narrator is very good. I grew used to the character’s voices through Ralph Cosham, and loved them all.
But after a few chapters, the power of the story took over, and I really enjoyed the book.
Read them all I say.

Historia
Viktor Orlov had a longstanding appointment with death. Once Russia’s richest man, he now resides in splendid exile in London, where he has waged a tireless crusade against the authoritarian kleptocrats who have seized control of the Kremlin. His mansion in Chelsea’s exclusive Cheyne Walk is one of the most heavily protected private dwellings in London. Yet somehow, on a rainy summer evening, in the midst of a global pandemic, Russia’s vengeful president finally manages to cross Orlov’s name off his kill list.

Revisado: 07-22-21
Like all Daniel Silva’s books in the Gabriel Allon series, the Cellist is well written and riveting. His weaving in the events of the COVID pandemic, the US Presidential election, the threat of the alt-right, and the continuing threat of Kremlin Incorporated are an important commentary.

Read / listen to them all of you like the genre. I’m ready for a next series featuring Racer.
It’s clear the author has experience with CIA. Delta Force and the Seal teams.
Just enough technical facts, worked in well with the fiction.

Historia
It’s 1936, and Tobias Henry is stuck in the frozen hinterlands of Michigan. Tobias is obsessed with two things: God and girls. Mostly girls, of course. But being a Baptist preacher’s son, he can’t escape God. When his father is blinded in a bizarre accident (involving hard cider and bird droppings), Tobias must ride the rails to Texas to recover a long-hidden stash of money. Along the way, he’s initiated into the hobo brotherhood by Craw, a ribald vagabond-philosopher. Obstacles arise in the form of a saucy prostitute, a flaming boxcar, and a man-eating catfish.

Great Series!!
Revisado: 03-06-15
I'm totally hooked. It's great to find a series that I haven't read or heard. I enjoy the stories and the narration - even when John Lee's voice of American characters sounds just like Gus Dewer from Ken Follet's The Century Trilogy.
BTW if you have heard or read those - don't miss out.

Historia
In 1849, 5 years before Henry David Thoreau published Walden, he wrote what has come to be recognized as the philosophic textbook for nonviolent revolution. "I think that we should be men first, and subjects afterward," Thoreau wrote. "It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right." Taking as his major premise the idea that "...government is best which governs least," Thoreau asserts that one's first loyalty is to one's own nature.
