Historia
Five years ago, the US Space Force became a reality. And while those writing the checks took things very seriously, the other military branches did not. As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables. My name is Captain Ethan Stone, a decorated member of SEAL Team Six turned Space Force "recruit". Flash forward five years and between tenses. President West is in office. Power has shifted. And Space Force is defunded. With just a handful of us still living on base, we find ourselves being evicted. But before all of us can leave, aliens invade.

A Retread Mishmash
Revisado: 03-19-25
I normally enjoy Jeremy Robinsons work, but this time it just came across tired. like he threw bits and pieces from many other stories into this one. Just couldn't enjoy the repetitive nature of the writing.

Historia
How lucky do you feel? Matthew Sellers revealed the truth of Limbus, Inc. to the world, and in his tales of time travelers, intergalactic beings, and human sacrifice, he thought he had told it all. But the story of the shadowy employment agency that operates on the edge of the abyss, always finding the perfect person for the perfect job - no matter what the cost - had only begun. This shared-world anthology continues the story of Limbus, Inc., as told by five masters of horror, fantasy, and science fiction.

Enjoyed every short story but at times grew irritated with narrator. He had a good voice and speaking speed. But he mispronounced enough words I started to get aggravated with him. Such as psyche, clandestine, and several others.

Historia
When Detective Karen Hart hears a scream echoing out of beautiful Lincoln Cathedral one snowy evening, she is the first officer on the scene. In the chapel a man lies murdered, a bloody cross carved into his forehead. A note to the police from the murderer, signed by "The Cleanser", confirms their worst fears: this sadistic slaying is the first of many. When early leads become dead ends, Karen starts to wonder if there’s a link to a rumoured conspiracy within police ranks - particularly when an abrasive new officer is assigned to the case.

Revisado: 06-20-24
The detectives, from the main character Hart on down, come across as slow witted and dull. It takes them too long to reach obvious conclusions. The story is not helped by the narration. While the character voicing is adequate, the story narration is abrasive and staccato. I won't be spending more money on this author.

A bonding adventure goes horribly wrong in this gripping story of trust, survival, and motherly instincts. Karla and her stepdaughter Olivia are alone on a remote family camping trip when news of a mysterious outbreak in nearby San Francisco begins to trickle in. With little information to go on, the two women must identify the biggest threat to their safety: the supposedly deadly virus, the stranger who stumbles into their campsite, or each other.

Nice Change

As a fan of much zombie literature, I really enjoyed this variation on the standard relationship tropes. A strong female protagonist doesn't happen often enough in this genre.

Army veteran Lee Riker is staying in an Atlanta shelter and supporting himself with the odd carpentry job when his sister, Tara, summons him home to Indiana for the reading of their mother’s will. Riker boards a Greyhound bus in Atlanta with his duffel bag, less than $200 to his name, and a secret he must protect at all costs. Riker makes it to Middletown only to learn his sister has recently witnessed a gruesome death. Insisting she saw the victim rise from a pool of his own blood to attack the Samaritan rendering aid, Tara floats the idea that the man may have been a zombie.

Great story if you can tolerate narration
Revisado: 03-23-22
A pretty good start to a zombie apocalypse series but, the narrator is too narrow in abilities. The two main characters are African-American, but are voiced like a young Clint Eastwood and a southern white gal. Paul does a decent job voicing the sidekick to the main duo. When not voicing a character, Paul never changes inflection or pace, which takes away from enjoying the story. RC Bray could've knocked this out of the park.

When World War 3 erupts on American soil, it is up to some less than likely heroes to band together and stand tall against any and all comers as a once proud nation is brought to her knees. Cowardly terrorist attacks and indifferent global communities have isolated America as she spirals into a desperate bid for survival.

Too Many Unexplained Yet Obvious Holes
Revisado: 09-11-21
Premise, that US wouldn't retaliate immediately after a nuke attack, and wouldn't have intel on enemy almost immediately is too unrealistic. And Tufo doesn't even discuss what our nuclear navy would be doing. Between satellite coverage, and other intel sources, our country and its armed forces would not just sit around with their thumbs up their butt, for weeks and weeks after being struck by a tactical nuke or 2.
Runnettes narration was pretty good except Mike and Tyler sounded so similar it made it difficult to follow conversations at times. Stayed the course and finished it because Tufo can still make me laugh frequently at the dialog between some characters.

Decent Story but Narrator Needs Work
Revisado: 07-15-21
I enjoyed the plot overall,l. Some plot points were a bit too obvious. Narrator was good at times, but I found it hard to distinguish the female protagonist voice from the lead male characters. Why did she make the female protagonist voice so deep? It was very unnatural sounding.

Good story but disappointed in obvious links the experienced cops missed, that were so obvious it was clear that the story relied on them being inept. I should not be able to figure out the ending before the experienced cop characters do.
