Historia
On February 24, 1986, 29-year-old newlywed Sherri Rasmussen was murdered in the home she shared with her husband, John. The crime scene suggested a ferocious struggle, and police initially assumed it was a burglary gone awry. Before her death, Sherri had confided to her parents that an ex-girlfriend of John’s, a Los Angeles police officer, had threatened her. The Rasmussens urged the LAPD to investigate the ex-girlfriend, but the original detectives pursued only burglary suspects, and the case went cold.

Speed up the narration by 1.3x
Revisado: 04-22-20
Most everyone is critical of the narration, which I agree is NOT great, but if you speed it up? It's tolerable. I chose 1.5x but anywhere around 1.3-1.5 is better than his normal voice.
This story fascinates me. He clearly did a crazy amount of research and puts it all together in a way that makes sense. I don't understand why he spends so much time discissii the murder of Catherine Braley instead of finishing strong with information about the trial and what the other 24 hours of the book was about. it was so random. You are ready for a closure and the climax... But instead you get over two hours of a murder that really does not have much to do with the rest of the book. I was thrown off by that and unpleasantly surprised. Regardless, I learned quite a bit and I'm glad I read this.

Historia
Jenn Corbin appeared to have it all: two dear little boys, a posh home in one of the upscale suburbs of Atlanta, expensive cars, a plush houseboat, and a husband - Dr. Bart Corbin, a successful dentist - who was tall, handsome, and brilliant. But gradually, their seemingly idyllic life together began to crumble. Bart was distraught and Jenn seemed disenchanted. Then, just a few weeks before Christmas 2004, Jenn was found dead with a bullet in her head, an apparent suicide....

Gripping
Revisado: 11-04-19
Struggling to describe how this book made me feel. Immersed, devastated, furious... yet ironically hopeful that justice prevailed and the families have found the strength to carry on.
Max, Narda, Carlton, Barbara, Heather, Gil, Dillon, Dalton... Mrs. Rule did a phenomenal job communicating how wonderful and irreplaceable Dolly and Jenn were to your lives and to the world. Your pain and loss of those beautiful women is unfathomable and beyond any words that could be written.

Historia
Decades after Richard Ramirez left 13 dead and paralyzed the city of Los Angeles, his name is still synonymous with fear, torture, and sadistic murder. Philip Carlo's classic The Night Stalker, based on years of meticulous research and extensive interviews with Ramirez, revealed the killer and his horrifying crimes to be even more chilling than anyone could have imagined. The story of Ramirez is a bizarre and spellbinding descent into the very heart of human evil.

There simply wasn’t anything to dislike about this book... which means it’s totally worth a credit. Narrator is interesting. Story is told graphically, but well. 5 stars well deserved.

Liane nailed this one...
Revisado: 06-27-17
What made the experience of listening to Big Little Lies the most enjoyable?
The fact that I could relate to some of the characters. The imagery is next-level.
What does Caroline Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Sass. All the sass.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely.
Any additional comments?
I watched the HBO series after reading the book and it was slightly sub-par. The show was fantastic... but the book was just THAT good.

My only complaint is that he could have written a book with 99 chapters. I wonder how easy to read this book would have been had I not followed every single second of this case/tryout. Juan Martinez and Steve Flores are true social servants.

Historia
The true story of Barbara Stager, a devoted mother, loving wife, and dedicated church leader who committed an almost perfect crime. By all accounts, Stager seemed to lead the perfect life in her community in Durham, North Carolina. After her husband, popular high school coach Russ, died tragically, the police were inclined to believe her story - that she accidentally shot him. Suspicions rose when the police discovered that Stager's previous husband had died similarly 10 years prior.

Perfectly told.
Revisado: 06-09-17
Some people are annoyed with how descriptive and detailed this author gets. In this case, it was fitting. Every small detail and account made for a complete, 360° View of exactly who Barbara Stager was. After seeing this case on many different shows, and I still felt as if I learned about it all over again. Five stars to Bledsoe, and my deepest sympathy for the Ford and Stager families.
