Really good smutty book!
Revisado: 04-26-24
The story is well written. I kind of wish I had just read it verses listening to it. The voice actors were extremely cheesy making the sex scenes a little over the top.
I will give credit to the well developed characters and backstories. The story was intriguing and definitely steamy. But again, I think it would have been better read than listened to, however that's just personal preference.
If you are into really dark, dirty, kinky sex with a ton of trigger warnings, this book is for you!

Great Book, Terrible Narrator
Revisado: 02-23-23
I grew up with this book. While the writing is a tab bit slow at times, the story is wonderful and engaging. I got into DnD mostly because of this and the Dragon Lance series. However the narrator is so bland and far to worried about verbal etiquette that I couldn't even remotely emerse myself in the story. Even though she was very clear and enunciated every word her inability to properly pronounce simple words was infuriating and dull.
If you want to enjoy this book I highly recommend reading it and not listening to it. I haven't found this book narratted by anyone else, sadly.

Quentin Coldwater is brilliant but miserable. A senior in high school, he's still secretly preoccupied with a series of fantasy novels he read as a child, set in a magical land called Fillory. Imagine his surprise when he finds himself unexpectedly admitted to a very secret, very exclusive college of magic in upstate New York, where he receives a thorough and rigorous education in the craft of modern sorcery.

Excellent Experience!
Revisado: 04-13-18
I am embarrassed to say that I watched the shows before reading the books, however this is the first time I was not disappointed with either! While the show deviates pretty severely from the show regarding the most of the main characters... It didn't bother me. The story is captivating and well written. It has a wonderful sense of dark humor without being completely morrose. The author developes wonderful characters that you can't help but feel deeply for yet doesn't bog the reader down in the menutiae. I can't help it, I am addicted and adore this book and the TV series!

By far this book has been a favorite of mine!
Revisado: 02-05-18
I love this book and story so much. I first read this when I was a nerdy little girl in Jr High, dreaming of knights, hero's, mages, and dragons. Here I am in my mid 30s and I am still that same nerdy little day dreamer who loves fantasy and I found this book and Raistlin's story definitely stood the test of time! I still adore him, understand him, somewhat relate to, and bleed for him... to the point that every rpg character I have ever created has at least a smidge of Raistlin in them.
If you have managed to get through life without reading the Dragonlance saga, I highly recommend reading it. Just realize this series is older, fantasy, and is better to read than to listen to. This narrator leaves a lot to be desired, but is sufficient.
I hope you love this story as much as I do! Enjoy!

Historia
Summer has come to Krynn, a summer unlike any before. The sun bears down on land and sea, searing the world with relentless light and heat. Clouds and rain are nowhere to be found, and even the darkness of night brings little relief from the strange and oppressive day. Meanwhile, those who commune regularly with their gods are uneasy. Every day, their deities become more distant, more difficult to reach. Clerics' prayers go unanswered, and magic goes awry.

My favorite book of the series! Such a great ride and a wonderful wrap up for this age. I read this when if first came out when I was a teen and a few more times as I grew up. Listening to it was fun and allowed me to see more of the beautiful detail within the writing. I do miss these hero's to this day!
